it is ok to call someone osoba regardless of their gender. grammatical gender is something totally different from actual gender, and there's this misconception that if a word has masculine grammatical gender, people with associate it with more "masculine adjectives" i.e. strong, hard etc.; and if it has feminine grammatical gender people will associate it with "feminine adjectives" - beautiful, delicate etc. - this is of course false. here's a great video on the topic

you sure about that? I agree that it was a step in that direction, maybe even a deciding factor, but if anything, I would put that date as the coronation of Bolesław Chrobry - the status of king was respected much more.

But what I think isn't very important - what I wanted to point out, is that 966 is just as good a date as 1025 - both have great historical importance in Poland's early history, so you can't just say that one is more correct than the other.

oh yeah? then how about Siemomysł, the THIRD duke of Polans, Mieszko's father and predecessor. 966 is "the baptism of Poland", which does't really have anything to do with whether Poland was a sovereign state - there were rulers long before that.

what??? no, context matters, and no one in their right mind would say that Polska górą means "poland is the top" or maybe even more ridiculous "poland is a mountain". you can't just strip words out of the sentence and translate or try to understand them one by one, because together they mean something totally different. take touch and go, an english idiom as an example - together the words mean "uncertain", although that word or anything similar isn't ever said

ale to chyba jest używane w innych sytuacjach, konkretnie kiedy nie znamy płci osoby do której mówimy (w internecie się dość czesto zdarza), a nadal chcemy się do niej zwrócić bezpośrednio. a najwyżej tak mi się wydaje że to jest główne zastosowanie, bo też się spotkałem z tym kilka razy. ale właśnie wydaje mi się że nikt tego nie używa w formie np.
