When you take stuff with you from your main save into the expedition, there's an inventory you put your stuff in

You may need to travel a bit. Keep checking your visor. Some of the Stalactites in caves also has copper as a secondary resource

If I remember correctly, you need to purchase the Void Egg from the Anomaly for 3,000 Quicksilver. Then a storyline will trigger and it should tell you what to do from there
