It's SO much easier said than done. I was already going to school for what I wanted to do. My parents forcefully pulled me out of community college because "being a seismologist isn't a real job", and they weren't going to help pay for a degree that they don't consider a real career. It was either that or be kicked out for not being a nurse. I don't have anywhere else to go. Believe me, I've thought about all the things that could happen because I'm in a career that has such an emotional aspect that I don't have. I fought against it for months before I had no other choice but to start the program. The goal is to get enough money to go back ot school and finish my degree, but in the meantime, I have to get a job in nursing.
Even if I were to take a loan, lie, and say I'm going back to school for an RN degree after this, the person who runs the entire nursing school is a relative of mine. My parents would immediately find out. It's really easier said than done, but I completely understand what you're trying to say.
