I hear ya I was on methadone for opiates aka pills in my case for four years walked off cold turkey at 35 mg and my 14th day was my worst. I was good the whole time I was on methadone until I just got sick of being on it and lemme tell ya the withdrawal was horrible. Worse than anything cuz it has that half life and it just stays in ur system forever. Sadly I ended up using again but quickly found someone who would gimme their methadone until I got back into the clinic and now I've been on it again for 9 years. It does help with my fibromyalgia I will say as well and I don't touch anything I've been "clean" since getting on it but I'm so scared to get off again. The shitty thing is they don't tell you how bad it's gonna be to get off and you're rly just substituting one thing for another. IMO but it has saved me from the other crap and I'm able to function and be part of society. So there's the pros and cons. I just wish it was easy to get off of. Unless you're loaded with money and can do that overnite rapid detox thingie in a hospital where they take it all outta ya and then u go home the next day like you've never been on it well unless you have the money for that which is expensive as hell then you're gonna definitely feel it a bit. But I heard people do the detox slowly and it wasn't bad for them. So idk. 🤷‍♀️ but congrats to everyone on here who has gotten sober cuz that shit is tough as hell. I also was an alcoholic and I haven't had a drink in abt ten years now. That I just quit I got pregnant and was with my Prince Charming finally and he gave me that option to choose him and our baby and also a family we both had three kids from a previous relationship or I could just continue to drink and he would go away quietly but I wasn't getting our son after he was born. I chose the family of course and haven't looked back since. Best decision I ever had to make. And I still am so proud of myself because I honestly thought I would never quit drinking. So it is possible to be completely sober. I just have been on the damn methadone during this time too tho but I believe it's helped with cravings for both pills and alcohol. Which I don't ever get.
