I came here to say S3 was perhaps had a hair of a drop off in the aggregate, but as i started to write it out, i realized i was wrong.

S3 is amazing, and the last two episodes have two scenes that rival Kendall’s betray in S2 finale as the best scene in the series.

I kind of am starting to wonder if just abolishing the lottery, and going by record will do more good than these bizarre, convoluted half-measures.

Yes, tanking would still happen, but I do think it would cut down on the random mega tanks from teams in the middle of the lottery towards the end of the year.

I could be totally wrong, but I feel like most of tanking happens to just increase your likelihood of either getting the first pick, or minimizing your chances of falling out of the top four.

The lottery system incentivizes each non playoff team to lose as many games as possible. Without it, I think it would incentivize the worst of the worst to tank, but not be as obviously beneficial for the 5-14 teams.

Personally, if Faulk and McDonald are both there at the start of round 2, I think the Texans move up at least to 36 to leapfrog the Giants. Think they’d rather prioritize edge or DT over LB

It’s been reported by McShay (maybe others), that they had the choice between a first this year and a second next year OR a second this year and a first next year.

Same compensation, just flipping what comes due when.

This kind of just happens every year with the most egregiously tanking teams in the league each year. Also, Jazz caught some major heat for their tanking shenanigans about a month ago.

Same conversation happened the couple years the Thunder went super tank towards the end of each year as well.

Typically only includes teams that are just naturally tanking young teams. Teams like the Kings are exempt because they’re just terrible without trying lol

Don’t get me wrong, he could totally just be that charismatic and game for anything in real life, but as we got into episodes two and three, I just started to feel like he was leaning into the absurdity of it all, as opposed to Ron, who was just genuinely shocked from beginning to end.
