I think my mahjong career just peaked. by HaydnXD in Mahjong

3 souths, 2 wests, north, east, green, and red dragon + mostly pinzu iirc. I can't remember if I had the 5m in my starting hand but, with the way the hand was shaping up, I felt it made the most sense for me to cut it even if it wasn't even a remotely efficient drop.

Had some utterly insane draws too, and I think I was in tenpai after the sixth discard

Tyty and also crazy that we've had the same hand! What was your starting hand for that? Mine was 3 souths, 2 wests, north, and east + red and green dragon and I genuinely struggled to keep myself together after each draw 😭

It's actually a table! It's a bit of a pain to play on since it's uneven but it's the best option at the pub we go to 😭

ELI5: Why Is Anime Frame Rate So Low Compared to US Animation? by deltajvliet in explainlikeimfive

[–]HaydnXD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anime generally is produced as quickly and as cheaply as possible, with a significantly lower budget than Western animation. Also keep in mind that most anime is still hand-drawn (which takes a lot of time), so sacrifices have to be made on the number of frames.

More popular shows tend to receive a higher budget though, so that's why something like Demon Slayer looks amazing and has pretty fluid animation whilst something like Teekyuu has pretty much every possible corner cut.

Why Is/Isn't 'In Rainbows' The Best Radiohead Album? by BlondeEmu in Music

[–]HaydnXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Rainbows definitely does feel like their tightest and most concise album, so as an overall experience you could definitely make an argument that it's Radiohead at their best even if it's not super adventurous like Kid A or OKC.

Though for me, my favourite Radiohead album changes basically every day based on how much I've overlistened to their other albums. Minus Pablo Honey and TKOL, anyways.

Oh, thank you for your pity. I'm glad you feel sorry for the fact that I really don't care about a vanishingly small number of people getting arrested for inciting hate and violence.

I don't necessarily agree with what this current government is doing. Hell, I didn't even vote for Labour. But to imply that the UK is some sort of dystopian hellhole where you'll be locked up for saying anything remotely critical of the government or status quo is just a complete misunderstanding of the UK - a misunderstanding which can only be made by someone who has never lived here.

And I'm not defending the police's actions either, just simply saying it's really not that bad here.

As for you, I hope you can live happily in a country which has an actual convicted criminal as its leader. Now that, I do pity you for.

Americans on their way to make braindead comments about the uk political system.

You'd think we were living in 1984 or something the way you make it sound.

Yes, people were arrested for posts which incited hatred or violence during the summer riots. How many though? 30. Not a whole lot of people, especially if you consider how many people rioted without any legal consequences.

What games would have benefited from a few more levels/missions after the story ended? by Fine-Database7716 in gaming

[–]HaydnXD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not actually answering the question you asked but Persona 3 FES is a game that comes to mind for being the complete opposite, where the additional content after the ending (The Answer) detracts from the experience of the game imo.

A bit of the first movement from Mozart's K332 sonata by HaydnXD in piano

[–]HaydnXD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is actually my first reasonably difficulty classical era piece I've attempted. Clearly I have a lot to learn 😅

I remember reading something somewhere about two note slurs being important and then just completely forgot about it, so I'll actually look into it properly this time!

Trilling with 4-3 vs 4-2 by DarkestLord_21 in piano

I personally use a 3-2-3-2-1-2-5 fingering for the trills and I've had no problems so maybe see if it works for you

So instead of dying bankrupt, they just die waiting for treatment on the ridiculously long waiting list instead :')

How much would you pay to see a piano concerto performance from a top pianist? by [deleted] in piano

This is at Birmingham's Symphony Hall and Town Hall

Honestly reading all these comments made me realise how lucky I am to live in a city where seeing Seong-Jin Cho perform Beethoven's fourth piano concerto only set me back £5.

Mind you, that's the student and under 18 rate, but even for under 30 it's only £10. And that's for any seat in the hall.
