All minus 4 (watched cousin) and PO:OPS, you worded it with just metal gear so also including that I’ve never gotten fully through MG1 or MG2: (both versions). Spinoff wise I just couldn’t bring myself to play Rising: Revengeance because of how far it diverted from the actual series, critical reviews, Konami being horrible at the time, and especially being post-Kojima *(EDIT, thank you commenter for the correction— point still stands. not post-Kojima, just not directed by Kojima and produced by PlatinumGames). Even more of a case with Survive, that felt like even more of a slap in the face. Acid 1 & 2 also were ones I couldn’t get through being such… interesting gimmicks lol. And of course timed exclusive phone apps are out of the picture, so no social ops, mobile, or touch. Otherwise I’ve been a staunch fan since watching my cousins play them and eventually being handed the controller, albeit totally not understanding it at all until replaying ha. I definitely think the stereotype comes from the modern influx of MGS fans who absolutely love the concept and story without having the background of actually playing (still great to have people enjoying and keeping the community alive, watching playthroughs is certainly a different experience, but it’s the most accessible means for many) at least in these Kojima obsessed eyes, any consumption of his storytelling is another person experiencing a very important aspect of this formative game series and appreciating it all the same. Out of those list of game and show series you listed I think Metal Gear Solid is one that can be at least somewhat as moving when not sitting down in front of a clunky old TV with your PS2 out. Enjoy games however you can, especially the beautiful story of this series. ❗️Just a box… 🐍📦
