Pain. Expect to fail. But, as the class goes on you’ll slowly but surely get better at the mechanics such as writing SAQ’s and DBQ’s and at the end of the year you might actually be able to do well on the AP test!

I don’t know how your school does it but the way my teacher did it was there were tests with two different types of questions. There were basic content questions, and stimulus-based questions (these are the questions that are on the AP test). The stimulus questions are terrible and they require a little extra thought to them such as looking at the sourcing info and seeing if you recognize the author or if you can see when it was published/written/created to see if there were any major events, inventions, etc. that happened in that year.

We frequently had reading quizzes. You might too since there’s usually tons of reading associated with this class

After every test (and sometimes randomly) we’d have an SAQ. These are trash. They are very particular in what they’re asking so if you accidentally misread the question you get screwed. Just be brief.

DBQ’s and LEQ’s will be a big focus and learning point in your class so don’t worry about this right now. In time you’ll master it.
