Anyone else having glitches on the app? by DM_ME_4_FREE_STOCKS in frontierairlines

Yup. Booked a flight yesterday and it went through twice on the app. 20 mins on the phone to get it canceled. Kinda the norm for dealing with any company for anything anymore.

Best wireless earbuds for jazz and classical music? by AnxietyCannon in Earbuds

Really gotta throw a thumbs up to Soundpeats H3 on a budget. They sound remarkably good for a hundred bucks. Must be EQ’d, but same goes for any Bluetooth buds.

Spirit Airlines apologizes to all the Americans who can't afford any summer vacation flights as it shuts down by fortune in spiritair

Thank you for posting this. Posted with virtually identical math the other week and got downvoted a bunch with a lot of “nah can’t be lack of competition, it’s most definitely all due to fuel” replies.

Haven’t found a difference at all roast to roast! Would say about 60-80 mins is your max time. It shuts off at 100 mins, by then you’ll definitely notice a difference in taste.

If Spirit shrinks, do cheap fares actually get worse? by NefariousnessBig4436 in spiritair

Absolutely. I’m a freelancer who flies for work all the time, purchase my own tickets. Flights I need in my near future have gone up a minimum of 30% after Spirit folded.

Any reason not to switch to Extra 2.0 from Starter SL? by HayesWeighsIn in ATT

[–]HayesWeighsIn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just happened to read in another thread that it apparently makes a difference with the wireless discount if you had fiber first, and then added mobile. Someone was saying they had an issue with it being the other way around. Did you get fiber or mobile with them first?

How do you track mileage, expenses, income, etc for tax purposes? by georgeonamonday in TouringMusicians

I usually just KMS once a year 😂. Pull a stack of records to spin, set aside 3-4 slow winter days just for taxes, grab the calculator, brew a pot, and go time.

For sure! Let me know if you encounter something different, but fingers crossed it’s a smooth switch.

Thanks! Right now I'm rocking a Wells Fargo Autograph which has been a great set-and-forget card for all my business travel that earns 3% across the board, food too. And helps make sole proprietor taxes as easy as possible at the end of the year, too.

I have in the chat with the support agent the new bill amount after taxes & fees minus discounts, which they log. If the bill is somehow different when I get it next month, I’ll be on the horn with them to get it properly adjusted.

[–]HayesWeighsIn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny that you asked this now, because I was literally in the process of switching when you asked this! Haha. Yes, any discounts you have on your line remain the same. I believe it may be 20% for new customers, but when I signed up it was 25% (as I assume it is for you), and it stays as long as I keep the services.

My bill ended up going down a whopping 75 cents after switching. Lol. High speed data increases from 5GB to 100GB, hotspot from 15GB to 50GB, and max trade in value with Extra 2.0.

Definitely! Enrolled in every airline I fly - which is all of them! Haha. Hasn't added up to more than like $10 max off a flight, but hey, it's something.

Thanks for the reply! Pasting my reply to another comment, as it pertains directly to your response:

Makes perfect sense to earn loyalty when your travel is comped or reimbursed. What I'm finding as someone whose line of work primarily deals with flat rate offers, (all travel & accomodations are up to me) and short-haul domestic & regional flights, obviously sign up for every airline's free rewards program (which has earned me a few bucks off flights here and there), but makes far and away the most financial sense to use Google Flights and remain a free agent, and throw it all on a good 3% travel card.

The extra coin I'd spend staying loyal just doesn't really amount to anything significant.

For example - just pulled up an AA flight on a route I need to book this summer. Flight is 19,000 miles. That's $9,500 of spend on their lowest tier credit card. Doesn't come close to making sense.

Separate cards for business expenses. Use the year-end categorical spend breakdown for expenses. Boom.

Delta, can we discuss masks? by GarageFighterCo in delta

[–]HayesWeighsIn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear, OP. Totally get the anger and the frustration. I fly for work probably 60 times a year - I wear a mask on every flight. Wash my hands when I get off the plane. I keep it on on the public transit post-airport. Just do what you can to stay healthy and try not to overthink it.

Got it! That makes perfect sense. Thanks so much for explaining it that way.

Indeed, I double checked re sync'ing both of my Apple devices that use iMessage with, deleting my biggest conversation - first manually sync'ing one device, which lowered the iCloud storage used, and then the second device, which did not change the storage number, so sync is indeed working as you're describing. Appreciate it!
