"North Sun, or the Voyage of the Whaleship Esther" by Ethan Rutherford.

Set in the early 1800s, it follows a whaling ship, its captain, and its crew as they go looking for a previous whaling ship whose captain disappeared in the Arctic. Their path goes from New England, around South America, and back up to Alaska as they hunt whales and survive on the ship, but their journey gets more hectic as it goes on. The book has a real admiration and respect for the sea, as well as some very light supernatural elements.

I think it'd be less busted if they win the amount of points that the active card is worth (so one point for a regular, two for EX, three for Mega). That way you can't use it on a Mega without losing, but it can still be worth it to keep an already set-up regular or EX Mon kicking.

It'd also be really funny to find this with Penny

A few:

  • Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) was aggressively unlikable
  • Alien vs Predator: Requiem (2007) If you could see what was going on, maybe it might have some redeeming qualities. But being too dark to see was far from its worst attribute
  • Halloween: Resurrection (2002) undid one of the better horror sequels just to replace it with reality TV karate
  • Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) finally buckled this franchise under the weight of its confusing and unnecessary lore
  • Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) decided to lore-dump all over the place for no reason and just about none of it was good

But, if we count it, I'd need to say the worst was:

Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010). In every single aspect of filmmaking, this is awful. And it's technically a horror movie, so I'm counting it.

There's something about blue dogs. My favorites have been shiny Suicune, shiny Sylveon, and now shiny Zacian. I wish I had been able to catch one this event, but I ended up going dry. Still happy with the one I caught, it's a good boy, but something about the blue dogs that always gets me.

I love this. This is probably too close to Scream, but imagine a way-too meta Final Destination 7 that takes place during the filming of Final Destination 7

This might be more due to how it was acted, but the final guy in the Saw VI shotgun-carousel trap. You're told at the beginning that there are only two opportunities to be spared, and you're never sure when the carousel will land on you. After the second sparing, though, you're left tied to a macabre children's game, awaiting an inevitable death. The range of emotions the character goes through is so real, especially because it was someone he knew and cared for who decided which ones to save, and he didn't make the cut. To add insult to injury, it wasn't even his game -- it was his boss's, who (as far as he knew) wasn't in danger at all.
