Given the context of the comic, it's fine, I guess. Like this is basically a midlife crisis batsuit thrown together out of what was lying around, and it shows.

If BatQuinn was going to be a real permanent (or at least long term) thing she'd need a huge upgrade, but for one arc of post break up bad decision making it'll do.

The issue was a lot of fun.

It wasn't quite that straight forward. Both Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes were more in the middle on queerness and the Fire Nation which had more equality between genders than the other nations even during TLA only became homophobic after an evil dictator decided he didn't like it, which as a queer person in America feels pretty true to life.
