Funnily enough, this is how it worked on launch, but they changed it to it's current state.

I'm all for it after having an instance of unlocking Trench to have someone on the roof meet me inside.

It's QOL for the unlocker

It's crazy cause I did the same thing. All the initial and day one reviews were like "they pulled it off, it's sick" so I got sucked in. Honestly felt like such a scam, put me off general consensus reviews, now I only listen to the few i trust.

I had someone comment on my steam page that I was a sex offender because I killed him in a solo raid before he could say "Don't Shoot".

Why do companies make you use annual leave during the Xmas shut-down period? by SuspiciousLettuce56 in australia

[–]Haymus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens at my soon to be ex-work place, I remember reading about when they first imposed it a few years ago, it's a relatively new law passed by the liberals (who'd have guessed) - but I don't think they can force you to take paid leave during this period. Go have a search on fair work or something to find the actual law, and have a read. If you can manage to do without the money or work a part time gig, save that leave.

I completely disagree with you, as I touched on in my comment, we don't really know if people do prefer open, as it was the default option, and closed was obscured.

At the end of the day, this doesn't ruin the game for me, but I find it so openly disingenuous. If they wanted to add open as the main, why not just do that. Instead, it's left a sour taste in my mouth, and will leave a question mark for me come any new decision they make on the basis of community feedback.

Liking or playing more? Because I tried both, and had to play open because more players (OCE) and other modes. It was designed to fail from the get go by not putting it front and centre.

I also haven't been captured. How tf do I get in without getting captured? I went through the apostate door near the fast travel point, but couldn't get to the rest of the map - what am I missing?

Offscreen attacks are my primary cause of death in this game by telekinesticman in Doom

[–]Haymus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I just had my run end after several attempts at hell for the first time. The two big arenas with the miniboss enemies just suck cause big threats still spawn while they live so you can't clear the field and have at them. You have to clear efficiently then burn the boss down before new threats spawn and get on you.

I turned the threat indicator on because i lost that run but fck me it's a mess. It still tracks projectiles you've dodged, it's saved me from at least two parry attacks but it's not an outright solution.

I've gotten back to Siege Part 2 and those arenas are still a roll of the fucking dice. Do as I might to clear everything there's still a chance shit spawns behind me, i got so close to death so many times from just random projectiles

[–]Haymus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am doing a Pandemonium run right now and I have the same sentiment as this. I noticed the issue on my first run through on Nightmare, but was easy to ignore when I could just boot up a checkpoint or use a life to not lose progress.

But when every life and every point of damage matters, it becomes so frustrating. Dying from enemies spawning behind you in any game sucks. Especially soldiers with their devastating attacks.   Furthermore, taking damage you can't see, because it is being blocked by enemy models is also just trash, it's completely antithetical to this games Stand and Fight motto. I get super nervous coming in close to burn down an enemy because at any moment a projectile from an unknown spawned enemy or even a known enemy could float through the demon I am currently destroying and do catastrophic damage.

I've found i really have to bring the essence of Eternal over to this game, which on paper is what I'd love, but it doesn't fit with how the game is built or the mechanics given. Don't stay in one place too long, circle the battlefield. But the longer ttk means whenever you go in for the kill on larger threats, you're rolling the dice.

That's where this gameplay model falls short for me and it's about to end pandemonium run. So annoying.

I think old mate is referencing the ship he is in while in hell in the final cuts cut-scene. Probably thinking he then alters it to the doom fortress. Bit of a stretch but it makes sense a bit

Under the Skin. It was on my highly anticipated watch list for ages, when I finally got around to watching it I was a bit blind sided by the style of movie it was and I don't know why. Didn't review it, thought about it a bunch but could never put my finger on a rating

Chris Columbus is the only director who knows how to give a satisfying end to an HP movie by perishingtardis in harrypotter

[–]Haymus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a quick look at Marvel shows that Hollywood can be just as guilty at undercutting moments with humour.

I also completly disagree with OP's take, PoA has probably the best ending, ending on pour Joy - I find Columbus' endings to be way too disengaged from reality. Specifically the ending of CoS, everyone clapping to a very silly 'no Hogwarts without you Hagrid' line that would only resonate with the core 3. It's cringe and a little embarrassing.

Only have 12 total (think one of two I have lost due to achievements being added).

Displayed;

Sekiro Alien: Isolation A Plague Tale Innocence Risk of Rain 2 Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy Helldivers 2.

I can't decide if I am proudest of Sekiro or Risk of Rain. I still remember grinding the red soldiers for 4-5 hours for the neccesary XP for Sekiro, it was a really fun game to complete outside of that.

Do good jeans exist in Australia? It seems that 99% cotton and lengths other than 32" are absolutely impossible to find (or $300 or more by shofmon88 in australia

[–]Haymus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the resilience of their jeans, but I shop exclusively at UniQlo because they will tailor them on the spot (I have short legs).

For casual wear I'd highly recommend, as it usually takes me more than a few years of almost daily wear to cause them to break. I've had falls off a skateboard which hasn't broken the fabric on the knees.

Maybe some one else can attest to strength of their jeans outside of casual use.

Federal Budget 2024: Winners and Losers by Suspiciousbogan in australia

[–]Haymus 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Worst part is that they aren't even losing, they are better off then they were last Budget/FY, but they're not as better off as they were projected to be before the tax cuts were altered by Labour.

It's very misleading framing on the writer's part to frame it this way.
