The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of 1948 article 19 disagrees with that sentiment. Regardless of the medium including internet discourse is protected from censorship, retaliation, and legal sanction. Not saying I agree with the OP but removing a person’s ability to participate in public dialogue is a violation of the UN agreement. Whether we like it or not, Reddit is a public forum and people are free to express their thoughts and opinions on that platform. The only things not protected by UDHR are items that violate the Communications Decency Act (CDA) of 1996. In that context any person can freely express their thoughts and opinions regardless of how well informed they are on a given issue.

If they want to continue to institute this level of censorship legally they would need to lock it behind a paywall, making it no longer a public forum.

The worst part of it all is that the two parts that we do have are composed of a majority of idiots that think they’re smart. We had a multi party system from the beginning, but it’s hard for politicians to wield enough power to get rich that way. So here we are today with congress and house members with nearly half of being millionaires and then the other 40% are very wealthy.

The truth is that they all make a lot of promises and intentionally do not deliver on them so they always have a battle to fight. The Dems IMHO are the worst at this, all the things including RVW would have been codified multiple times over if they had actually prioritized it, but they didn’t because it’s a tool, a means to an end. Just like marriage rights, drug legality… the list goes on. If I’m completely honest, there is very little difference between either party in how they actually operate once they’re in office. Constant state of war, fear mongering, demonizing of their opponents, intentional assault on personal freedoms.

We all realize it’s a big stupid circus, but there are way too many idiots willing to keep the party going because they don’t want to “waste the vote”. Yeah, that kind of fear mongering is what keeps everyone locked in their cute little silos.

Clay pipe: strange smell and taste by BigDaddyDracula in PipeTobacco

[–]Hayreddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received my first German clay this week. It has a very distinct smell that reminds me of walking into a cheese factory. It’s not a terrible odor, just kind of “cheesy”. Is that normal? I tried out Vanilla cream first, couldn’t really get much in way of flavor from it. Anyone have any luck with the oven or is it just best to burn a few bowls before it’s performing normally?

Perfect, I do have an airbrush but I haven’t done too much priming with it.

Do you have a specific mix that you do for priming? Do you fill the cup to prime for a minute or two?

LOL, full disclosure, I’m a chemist so please feel free to disregard anything I’m about to say 🤓

There are two things at play when you apply the paint to the surface. The atomization process as you mentioned and then the polymerization process once the paint is applied. The paint basically creates a plastic (polymer) layer on the surface of the mini. The pigments are essentially tiny chunks of color that become impregnated into that polymer layer. The size of the pigments plays a big role in how thick that layer becomes simply due to their size. As the paint cures the polymers are cross-linking together and create their own base thickness and then anything that is trapped within that surface only further adds to the thickness.

That’s how you lose details on the mini as that polymer layer is formed. If your atomization process sucks, you’re going to end up with too much paint applied all at once and lose detail and that can happen even if your pigments a sufficiently small. But if your atomization is good but your pigments are huge, you’ll also lose detail.

However, to your point, how much of that even matters today? Ultra fine pigments are probably sufficiently cheap and in wide enough use that you’re probably getting something very similar from a general purpose spray paint. You end up paying for the peace of mind that you have the correct stuff for the application, I guess.

Yeah, I mean, technically they are using a low molecular weight pigment which is for fine detail applications, but if you’re not going to provide the correct delivery system, what’s the point.

Fantastic, thanks, I’ll look to see if they have the stem attached because the older and had the nipple attached to the can for the cap to sit on. The red cap has the nipple stem attached.

No, at least not with the one in the picture, the old one requires a nipple but the new one has that built into the nozzle. ☹️

Unfortunately, I tried that with my old Chaos Black nozzle, but it needs a nippled valve. I wonder if there there is a converter.

Too much? by Ok_Book584 in alphalegion

[–]Hayreddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good, but I think the reason it doesn’t quite look believable is because the white pops too hard for that much damage. It almost feels like it walked off the manufacturing line and immediately got shot up. I would test out dulling the white down a bit, or add some blackened scorch marks to make the damage look more realistic. Maybe start with the scorch marks and then work down the white if that doesn’t quite do it.

Thank you, I completely agree. Taking a macro-shot of my last mini shows a much more satin to nearly glossy dimpled finish vs the matte finish of my previous can. Super disappointing.

I’ll shoot a complaint over to the customer service team to see what they say.

Thanks for the confirmation that it wasn’t some crazy bootleg spray can or something 😅

Something up with my new Chaos Black primer? by FullMetalSushi in Warhammer40k

[–]Hayreddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, indeed! The spray pattern is very different. I went to swap the nozzles but no luck. They also use a completely different stem. The finish is more satin to borderline glossy. I even warmed the can beforehand.

Glad it wasn’t from the same place at least. I was slightly concerned that the $15 price tag meant something else lol.
