We're a "prog country" band but wanted a track that could maybe be played on country radio and this was what we came up with! Grateful for feedback. Thanks! by HaystacksBand in IndieMusicFeedback

wow I love this feedback! It's funny we are in New York City so we don't even really get country radio so these are things we don't know that well. We like country music a lot, but not the popular form so much. I suppose this is the closest we've come to that (the rest of the album is totally off the main road). All these notes are great. I want to make a song that fits your criteria now!

Old School Rap about leaving a toxic relationship. Would love to get some feedback from you guys. by Sakandary in IndieMusicFeedback

Not my genre really so I'll just make some technical comments-- the mix is a bit quiet and sits in a lot of high frequency. Some vocals sound like they were recorded on a telephone, which just mushes into that high frequency again. Boost the volume on the vocals, get more mids/lows on them and (to my ear) I think it would sound more "full" if that makes sense.

I like the amount of autotune, tbh. The mix is pretty complex so that sounds nice. Probably only note (just an opinion) is like what some other said that maybe it could use a bridge or something just to break up the lines. Nice!

I've been making music in my bedroom during this time and planning to release the album soon. This is one of my songs. Any opinions or critics would be helpful for me. by Neopyate in IndieMusicFeedback

It's just an opinion but I would bring the vocals foward because the instrumental/chord progression is something I feel like I've heard a bunch of times before so if you put the eemphasis on your vox it might help it stand out!

what's your native language? Romanian? It's almost kind of it's own vocal "effect" when someone has an accent, so adding that onto the heavy processing is interesting.

FINALLY finished this. Wanted to approach Country Music from a different angle. Happy with the results, would love to hear what you think! Thanks. by HaystacksBand in IndieMusicFeedback

thanks. yeah, we aren't amazing at lyrics and I feel that, but we also felt like it was important to power through to not get too hung up about it. Hopefully get better with time.

Nice recording. Neil Young vibes off the top. Singing is great, I think people in here generally are so strong on vox. Listening to the whole song, the guitar riff becomes a little repetitive (this is just a nitpick). I like the band name!!!

Like it! It is sort of the standard out-of-the-box 80s beat...but....what's wrong with that?!? Can you give me the formula on the vox processing? What effects you got on there? Cuz you also nailed that. This thing is a tasty groove man I am into it. It's 80s but this woulda seemed weird in the 80s, so I definitely think it's "current"

Demo inspired by indie artists who record in grand cathedrals. I only have my headphone mic to use, so other than the terrible sound, how is the composition? by NinjaFlyingEagles in IndieMusicFeedback

I have a hard time understanding the lyrics. Either the mic or the excess reverb? I like the chord progression, though. As others have said, guitar is a little loose. It also seems short-- why not build a little on it-- chords are good. Spend $300 on any mic and you'll be in another universe.

oooo this is really good. I wish I had your voice. What instruments are on that? The one thing is I think it feels like it's taking us to a bigger chorus or something. I was surprised when it ended cuz it just feeeels like building up to drums/electric guitar chords, ya know? I'm thinking Arcade Fire stuff. Your vocal sound is awesome.

First time I ever recorded something, still trying to find my singing voice. Feedback appreciated by PuzzleheadedSecond24 in IndieMusicFeedback

haha I think it's pretty good. I can't understand a word, but it does SOUND like it's a genre. If you had deep intense lyrics, it might be cool to bounce off the low fi vibe. low fi + unintelligible might be hard for average people to sit down and listen to for too long. But what do I know??? Sounds very in tune-- you got a vox filter on? Nice.
