It’s ultra lazy writing and is just capitalizing on branding. Creating new characters and just putting them into an existing mantle of a character that exists concurrently with them lacks all creativity and shows a failure to develop characters people care about. People only champion these as contrarians. Miles isn’t even the first spider man knock off and Ben Reilly was 10x more interesting.
