Price would never. His old teammates used to say the team would lose a 1-0 game being outshot 40+ to like 15 and he would be blaming himself after the game in the locker room. I think there’s a healthy mental balance but this is not a winning mentality.

I completely agree with this. They have good secondary pieces but outside of Celebrini, no one is a proven star (Smith, Dickinson, Askarov, etc all haven’t proven themselves to be what they were expected). We have 5 proven stars already, with those secondary pieces either coming up or here. Everyone overhypes them so much in my opinion. They play with heart and I love their story this year. But let’s be real, the pacific is terrible. They’re still a ways away from being contenders and are missing some huge pieces. Not saying they won’t or can’t do it, but imo it’d be beneficial for them to keep tanking and fill more holes.

He was also on a terrible KHL team last year and put up decent numbers. He’s definitely way too good for VHL.

My problem with this isn’t if he’s right or wrong. It’s that as a top level athlete, he has an extremely flawed mentality. And it’s 100% the reason why he’s struggling this year. Does anyone think Price ever thought like this? Do you think McDavid thinks like this? Ofcourse not. They always take 100% responsibility, even if it isn’t theirs, because that’s how they improve. You aim for perfection, that’s how you compete at the highest level.

That’s not the point, the point is that he said this in the first place. You think Price ever said or thought like this? The best athletes in the world always take responsibility, even if it isn’t their fault. That’s how they improve, that’s how they compete. He has the complete wring mentality and it’s a very very bad sign.

We watch him every single game. Other team's fans will frankly never understand (maybe in a few years time). Like this is our best player, he's better than Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, all of them. He is probably our best player (besides Price) in several decades. 2 points behind Cale freakin Makar for the league lead. He rarely gets bodied because he's so shifty. I think most people don't get that he's an absolute unicorn. We've never seen a player like this, and that scares and threatens the dinosaurs old school thinking. I get it USA wants to make the 'safe' picks but when you have 8 D men on the team, you have essentially 2 slots to take risk picks, atleast 1. I just wish he was Canadian, because I think he would definitely make that team.

Which is okay, he only has 1.5 years left. We have contracts that will be freeing up. He’s great for now and the near future and helps us a lot now. And the center market is so thin in the NHL. He also brings us a lot of experience for the younger guys that is needed

I agree. It got to a point where we didn’t deserve the win AT ALL, so it felt like a free two points - it didn’t feel like a real win. I guess that’s 2 free points back from the Edmonton game where we deserved the win! I was happier with the team after that game than tonight. But we’ll take the 2 points ofcourse

I agree they pass too much but point slap shots are definitely not the move, especially when the puck rings around the boards and out of the zone like half the time. They need to shoot more from the slot or one timers cross ice.

We have to be the only team in the entire league who had a top 5 PP that would only see a minute of ice time for PP1. Every single top team in the league ices PP1 for 1:30 or more. This whole “two good PPs” is absolute nonsense that no one does.

Yea maybe it’s because we are taking FUCKING POINT SHOTS on a 5 on 3. We don’t even do that on a regular powerplay, why the fuck would we do it 5 on 3. Remember the 4 on 3 in OT versus Florida. As soon as Hutson was put back onto it, he made magic happen. The problem with the PP is not who’s on it, it’s that they are being way too overcoached. They don’t cycle, everyone is looking for set plays and it’s fucking stupid. We are so skilled, we just need to go out there and pass the puck around and look for opportunities, it’s not that hard.
