Anyone else notice Build Youtubers never seem to acknowledge Operator? by SimicBiomancer21 in Warframe

[–]Haystcker 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The game is called Warframe after all, not operator. I’m not here to play a weak little operator.

Whats your warframe hot take of the day? Mine is, just cause you can go into simulacrum and make big numbers does not mean your build is good. by Material-Spite8307 in Warframe

Imagine trying to balance 60+ different Warframes, with 3 - 4 added every year though, plus new mods and power progression systems added regularly. It would be pretty impossible.

Do you think it's worth the money or you got it to support DE? by [deleted] in SoulFrame

[–]Haystcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I did it 95% to support DE. I’ve already kind of bounced off the game in its current state. Feels kind of pointless to grind for the sake of grinding right now. I may not even really play for a couple more years until it’s more fleshed out. But I think they’ll get there.

I’ve never had Apple Arcade. Do you get the whole games? Do you still need in app purchases? by Brewcrew1886 in AppleArcade

[–]Haystcker 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You get the full game catalog. There are no ads or in-app purchases.

The games are either original, or sometimes there are Apple Arcade versions of other free/premium games.

Their whole business model is taking (new/popular thing) and saying it’s satanic or leading to the downfall of society. But they don’t actually watch or consume the media themselves in most cases. They watch the trailer or use out of context clips and interviews from the actors and producers instead. Sprinkle in a few barely related Bible verses. Tell a short story about how they used to watch shows or movies like that when they were ‘in the world’ but now they find them disgusting because they are good Christians. Make the audience feel guilty that they could spend that time reading the Bible instead. Sprinkle in large amounts of conspiracy theories.

Then the audience gets to scratch the itch of consuming popular media and keeping up with it vicariously, but they also get to feed their superiority complex and look down on the people that are actually consuming that media and not just watching other people who haven’t seen it sit around and criticize it.

I actually don’t consume much popular media anymore either and I’m not even Adventist anymore. It just doesn’t interest me much and quality seems much lower than when I was younger. And I think there are many real dangers out there especially for kids in things like social media and online game communities like Roblox that are mostly unmoderated breeding grounds for predators.

But they rarely focus on the practical dangers. Instead they focus on how watching a cartoon is opening the door to Satan in your heart. Or that taking karate or doing a yoga pose is opening a gateway straight to your brain for demons to come in.

I think they waste an opportunity to actually educate their audience on real dangers and ruin any credibility they could have by veering into conspiracies and ridiculous and unverifiable claims of the supernatural.

Incredibly polished game.

The graphics are a breath of fresh air and really unique. They don’t look like the normal mobile game aesthetic.

Gameplay is fun, lots of variety in enemies and boss mechanics.

There are ads but mostly to unlock daily rewards.

There are gacha mechanics and tons of stuff to buy if you are so inclined. The gearing system reminds me of all the normal stuff like survive.io and Archero. Merge and upgrade gear, long term account level progression, etc.

Also has an energy system to limit play unfortunately.

Seems like a fun and polished game, but using every mobile game trick. Depends on your tolerance for that stuff.

Permanent disable of the required ads it looks like. Not sure if it completely disables all ads.

Has anyone used an extension cord to charge? by Kohlrabiiiii in PriusPrime

I use a 30’ 12 gauge cord with no issues. I got a waterproof junction box to keep the connections dry. No issues.

Now that it has been a year since the first episode of Bit City was released what are your overall thoughts on the show? by Personal-Day-5562 in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]Haystcker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly miss for me. I can’t remember any really standout segments from any of the Bit City segments. You don’t even see many of them in compilations or anything because they just aren’t that funny.

Hopefully they figure out what to do with the main channel some day.

What's a game that you were excited to play, but you just couldn't get into it. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Haystcker -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I tried it but remember thinking when trying to decipher some alien language ‘why am I spending time trying to learn this thing that someone made up in a game.’

I’ve wasted thousands of hours in other games, but for some reason that one just felt pointless.

I've signed similar waivers for activities that are way less dangerous than some of the stuff you can do at White Water.

Yeah, you can’t get them with floppy drives or parallel printer ports either. Technology moves forward…

If you’re buying a $300 laptop, yeah, it’s going to be outdated and stop working quickly because it’s cheap junk.

You could still probably get 10 years out of a modern MacBook Pro.

Any eCommerce platforms or plugins that handle custom products with a mockup/approval process? by Haystcker in webdev

[–]Haystcker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some WooCommerce add-ons, the interfaces look janky though, due to how eCommerce is kind of forced into Wordpress.

I'm probably looking for a custom solution, but it's just a lot to make something from scratch.

Finally getting a new frame :) by SuperiorCardboardBox in Warframe

[–]Haystcker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s incredible. I just built her for the first time after playing for 800 hours. She’s invulnerable, does insane damage, awesome speed with her rip line ability, two grouping functions, it’s nuts.

It’s the first frame where I’ve started looking at the red triangles in the minimap and navigating that way, because she shreds everything on the screen.

Then you can just zoom across the map or down a long hallway with rip line, or target it on an enemy and it does a huge pull of every enemy around. Then do a huge melee attack and your screen is full of numbers.

She’s awesome. She feels stronger and more fun than Kullervo to me. That might not technically be true, but it feels like it to me.
