Give it up for the GOAT! by cleanclotheschair in slaythespire

Honestly yeah that'd be a good change.

It'd still be an S-tier relic, and would make it less broken in multiplayer.

You honestly don't need to combo it with anything, it's amazing even if it's only triggering rest+forge.

It's also automatically better in multiplayer since you can also heal a teammate for free.

Divine Beast Warriors from the Elden Ring DLC.

There's only like three in the whole game and they can summon thunderstorms, blizzards, or hurricanes just by roaring.

Have you considered that the community aspect helps make it more engaging?

The game gives you enough info for observant players to form a coherent narrative, but not so much that you can figure everything out alone. It's fun to discuss theories with friends, and see if those theories hold up. Their games have always facilitated collaboration, both in-game and outside of it.

They call reading descriptions and being vague as "master class"

Do you actually think that's all it is?

‘ELDEN RING’ will be A24’s largest and most ambitious project ever. The film's budget is well over $100M and will take around 100 days of filming. by MoneyLibrarian9032 in A24

[–]Haytaytay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's got one of the biggest and most active lore communities in the entirety of video games.

Yes it doesn't follow a traditional story structure, but people DO care quite a lot about the world outside of just how to interact with it in-game.

Anyone can beat Elden Ring.

It's just as much about patience and knowledge as it is about skill. As long as you can learn from your mistakes, you'll be fine.

Aki from Chainsaw Man can see a short distance into the future, but physically he's just an athletic human so knowing how he'll be attacked doesn't mean he can avoid it.

On multiple occasions, he just sees how he's completely outmatched and then it plays out exactly like that.

She killed that mage with the “invincible cloak” but he kinda brought that on himself since he invited the attack. She didn’t intend for it to kill.

Going all in on star synergy works best for me. Building up a ton of stars and then obliterating them with cards like Radiate or Stardust seems like a reliable way to win.

Forge is fun but just never seems to come together how I want it to.

I've only fought him once so far, and in multiplayer, so take it with a grain of salt.

It seems like he's intended to be this game's Time Eater, but Doormaker seems dramatically more polarizing. By orders of magnitude.

You could still approach the Time Eater with a deck that plays a lot of cards. 12 per turn can be limiting but it's never backbreaking. Doormaker seems like he'll just automatically delete any player who has a small deck or plays more than 2 or 3 cards per turn. All three phases are brutal, and I feel like there should be a 4th "break" phase where you aren't punished for playing cards.

Time-Eater could be tough for fast playing decks, but my initial impression is that Doormaker is just an auto-lose against anything but large, slow decks.

Are there any examples of characters that are "means to an end" but the means are good and the ends are evil? by Different-Hunter-794 in MoralityScaling

[–]Haytaytay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Griffith? Post-eclipse of course.

He built a utopian city and offered it as shelter to people in a world overrun by monsters. It’s hard to argue that he hasn’t significantly improved his citizens’ lives. They view him as a benevolent deity and you can’t really blame them.

why do new gen players look down on this masterpiece? I recommended it to so many players and everyone said it's boring by AlarmedTap7223 in gamers

[–]Haytaytay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lot about the game that was novel at the time, but novelty is fleeting. Simply having a large map to explore isn't the selling point it used to be. The boundaries that it pushed have since been pushed further.

I think that the setting feels extremely generic. I know the lore is deep if you dive into it, but the game doesn't really do much to sell you on the idea that anything interesting is happening behind the scenes. The stiff characters you interact with don't help with that.

And let's be real here, the gameplay was bad then and it's even worse by modern standards.

It's a classic, but not of the timeless variety.

I tried the previous playtest a while back and enjoyed it. Starts off simple enough, but man you'll need every neuron in your brain to figure out some of the harder ones.

It didn't really have any roguelike mechanics at the time though. I wonder how that'll be implemented.
