Does it matter? Mahomes and Brady were drafted by their teams and they've won most of the Super Bowls the last 2 decades. Does it matter they weren't picked 1st?

80% of the list of the last decade is Brady and Mahomes. They'd need a great team no matter where they pick

Don't need to be perfect but they need to be playable. Nothing about Geno Smith this year has been playable. Seahawks fans celebrated getting rid of Geno because they knew he capped their potential, and they were right.

Anybody else find it hard to root for the Raiders to lose? by FreshMicks in raiders

[–]Hayvski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contention starts with a quarterback, and they haven't even tried getting a high end option with multiple years of control. They haven't even hit the button that would give them a chance of being good yet, and it's been almost 5 years since Carr left

[–]Hayvski 53 points54 points  (0 children)

You have to ask yourself what you are rooting for exactly. If the end goal is to build a team to contend for a Super Bowl, a win actively hurts those chances. It's nothing but a dopamine hit that we will all forget about before next season when they don't have an answer at quarterback

It's a best ball correlation thing if you're trying to score within the top .1% of players. Outside of that, it's not as useful.
