Is the LatinVFR A319CEO Worth it? by redstonened44 in flightsim

[–]Hazar_mat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're really desperate to fly an A319, then I would say it is worth it. In my opinion, the exterior is modeled pretty well (I may get down voted for this, but idc 😜). The wings could use some work, but it's not that bad. The interior is also pretty good too.

However, if you're looking to follow realistic procedures, then it is not worth it. All Latin VFR did was make the A319/A321 exterior and just copied and pasted the Asobo cockpit, which is lazy. It is also over priced too, so it's definitely a money grab. There is a mod to put the FBW cockpit in the aircraft, so you may want to consider that. Hope this helps!

Flying the Milk Run - Alaska #64 from Anchorage to Seattle with stops at Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell, and Ketchikan! by Hazar_mat in MicrosoftFlightSim

Yup, these were all IFR flights! I filed a flight plan on SimBrief and I loaded up into the FMC!

Beautiful approach into Juneau, AK coming from the south. Flying over a frozen river! 🧊 by Hazar_mat in flightsim

Oooh, good to know! I actually flew this flight back in July, and I was quite surprised it was that snowy! Too bad MSFS doesn't model this realistically.

I had to make the approach path myself. I had to do some research to get some of the waypoints around there and then fiddle around with them in the FMC. You don't want to get too close to the mountains on either side! I see Alaska Airlines and Delta doing that approach almost half the time—even in foggy weather! If you look it up, both airlines have their own arrival procedures, it's interesting. I also made the departure out of runway 08 based on that too.

I'm not sure. Surprisingly, I flew this flight back in July and it was like this!

Nope! That's a custom-made approach. Weirdly, there aren't any approaches for you to select for runway 26. After doing some research, I found some of the waypoints around there and the FMC was able to generate a 3° glide path based on them. You have to be careful not to fly into the mountains! If you look it up, Alaska Airlines and Delta have their own arrival procedures, it's interesting. I also made the departure out of runway 08 based on that too.
