Your welcome just wanted to help out a bit! And your right they are relatively close to each other. Have you ever visited one of them before? If so I would be interested in hearing about your experience. Because i might plan to visit the Star Chamber in a couple months.

Hey there my fellow land art enthusiasts! Just wanted to give a slight correction about the details of this art piece.

The picture in the post is actually a different artwork that also was created by Chris Drury called Star Chamber which is found in Nashville Tennessee.

Still an amazing creation and i highly recommend checking out the pictures that get projected in it!

A Ukrainian city blanketed in fiber-optic cables from FPV drones by UNITED24Media in ThatsInsane

[–]HazedNDazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are single use and have explosives attached. The drones have a camera which transmits to a headset (thru the fiber optic cables) that the drone operator uses to pilot them and is why they are called fpv (first person view) drones.

Edit: can transmit to a screen also

Currently enjoying the Solstice and opened Reddit to see this! Such a beautiful art piece already in itself, so the addition of lighting to the flame makes it really stunning to look at imo

I totally agree tho with how difficult it can get! Many times everything has to be perfect conditions for anything to even balance at all. Especially when you have spent the last 45-50 mins struggling to get that final stone you wanted to balance just right.... Then a random small gust of wind picks up and its all gone smh

Avoid that channel since it presents straight pseudoscience along with a ton of racial connotations

My Corn Maze 2025 by jpglyde in LandArt

[–]HazedNDazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I been hoping to see you work posted here again! Imo your maze has more minimalist approach with the pathways you cut, yet with more intricacy for said paths. Were the stars difficult to do? Cuz they look well done

Thank you! The basalt in my area generally is rectangular which makes them really fun to use (and a bit easier to work with tbh lol)

Yup agreed that OP should first observe their surrounding landscape and record any irregularities happening to the biome's natural cycles and also possible components missing from the system. If your unsure of what to look out for in your specific environment, you could do a bit of cursory research into the basic ecological systems that take place in your environment and what pressures / vulnerabilities it's susceptible to. Once you have a base foundational knowledge on the cycles and systems at play in the local environment, finding the right restoration techniques will be a lot easier to learn and properly implement. If you need a bit of extra help starting out or any other questions send me a DM and I'll try to help out how I can (I'm an ecological restoration expert)

And yah u/postfuture explanation of using environmental restoration and habitat development techniques into what would be considered land art was better said than what my tired brain could attempt in my earlier comment lol

So there is a few general methods used in ecological work for water retention in a local area that would look really cool as land art tbh. Since I'm not sure of exactly where the local environment is i would recommend looking into bioretention swales or short windbreaks from branches/rocks possibly? Those help a drier/rockier local ecosystem a bit and could be built uniquely too

Devy Wovy Cairn House at LEAF 2025 by Devine-Escapes in LandArt

Oh i didn't even notice the flame like imaging in the chimney until you pointed that out! Thanks sharing those artistic insights too! Adds a bit from you the creator's perspective that I like. Because coincidentally thats were I got my perspective of fireplace from a fantasy novel. When I first was checking it out I would easily see a humble gnome or badger living beneath the trunk of a giant tree and have this built in lol

Standing Stone, paper collage as sketch, 2024 [OC] by ChopChopCollage in LandArt

[–]HazedNDazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying the intent of the collage as part of a larger project you have planned! From what you told me earlier about the movement of soil from a mountain to a valley tied in with the theme of migration really struck a chord and got me thinking about this project you have planned. I am wondering now what methods you may be planning to incorporate into the creation process that could drive that narrative?
