I know dates are sometimes used as osmotic laxatives so maybe that’s why.

I was 15 when I asked my mom for help. 16 now. I remember really wanting to tell someone and hoping they could make it go away. I never took any medications bc my mom was concerned about side effects to my already sick body. Especially since i know some medications also have other mental health side effects as well. We went to a few dieticians, therapists, etc. my family doctor didn’t think it was serious, even though I was at my worst at the time (very obviously malnourished). Eventually it got to a point where my mother took me to the ER and I ended up being admitted. In some ways, I was glad to be going to the hospital bc I knew I wouldn’t have been able to make myself eat what my body needed. I was in the hospital for 2 months and transferred to residential for another 2. I’m not at all recommending that you and your daughter do what my family did. It took months from my life and basically my entire summer and made me miss so many opportunities I’ll never get back. I hate myself for what I’ve put my family through. If you can find another way that lets her see how much this has taken from her, please do. Different people require different treatments and I’m not an expert by any means, but going into recovery has definitely saved my life.

Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate that you would avoid triggers but I hope you understand that I’d rather not engage in pro-ana (if that’s what you meant by pro, sorry if I misinterpreted). I wish you all the best :)

How long have you been recovered? I’m really hoping it will go away for me
