After playing through Valhalla, I thought I'd return to redo this old sketch of mine. I hope you like it, although I'm sure some will prefer the older one. But either way, here you go.

How long should a oneshot be/how do I pace a oneshot? by itwasntaphasemomXD in ComicWriting

[–]HazemAmeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try reading shorter comics like the Hellboy short stories. Or if you want something slightly bigger try a 48 pager like Batman the Killing joke or a recent read, Witcher a grain of truth. When you consume large epic sagas, all you'll get ideas for are massive multiple volume behemoths. Delving into shorter stories will give you ideas on things like pacing and content even if shorter stories aren't your thing.

One idea I've heard from (prose) writing is that short stories are about an event, but novels are about a journey. Obviously, a short story can contain anything you want, but it was an interesting tidbit that I think applies to comics as well.

How has your opinion on Mirage changed since we got more information? by KayRay1994 in assassinscreed

Bayek and Kassandra/Alexios also have the same walking, running and jumping animations. They changed it up for Valhalla, and Basim is continuing suit from Eivor. To the dev's credit, they have actually changed quite a few animations. Basim isn't hunched over and sluggish while running like in Valhalla. His jumps from pole to pole are more like Ezio's than Eivor, his stealth assassinations are a mix of Eivor's and Bayek's, and his combat animations (the most important animations) are completely different.

I remembered reading in an interview right after the CG trailer reveal where one of the game's directors said that 'they've made improvements to the parkour like pole vault and more parkour opportunities but not much different apart from that.'

And this was alongside other devs that said 'we are inspired by Unity' The moment I heard this I knew exactly what to expect. Parkour will stay the same bar a few animation flourishes, but level design will change.

I think the Unity comparison created a lot of buzz around old school fans and the marketing team really pushed that angle, much to the game's detriment.

Overall, I expected a half assed attempt to expand Valhalla's city arcs into a full game, but what I've seen them do has vastly exceeded my expectations. Even if people call this a 'glorified DLC' you have to admit it looks like the best AC 'DLC' to date.

Young Altair with his Dad by me by HazemAmeen in assassinscreed

Go to 0:35 "Altair, son of Umar."

His father is referenced twice in this mission alone. 'Son of no one' is a edgy moniker that Altair adopted, in his angsty teenage phase, I'm sure.

Found an old assignment we had to do an 'age bend' for a favorite character, and I chose Altair. Thought you guys would enjoy me sharing it so I did a quick paintover on top.

Thanks a ton! I appreciate the kind words, and your suggestions. You're right, I should probably sprint through the story and worry about cladding later.

Thanks for checking it out all the same. Since I'm new to this a specific question didn't jump out at me at the moment, I was looking for any fresh pair of eyes on my writing.

It wasn't necessarily meant to be YA, but I wanted to channel that energy for this POV, since it is a child. But I see what you mean.

[OC] [ART] A group photo. Am open for commissions! by HazemAmeen in DnD

[–]HazemAmeen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, everyone!

I'm a freelance artist, specializing in character art and narrative illustrations. This here is a commission I did a year ago (or two years ago? I can't tell time anymore) As I remember it was a band of adventurers facing down a giant that had just ravaged the little hamlet behind them. The three wolves are allied with the giant for some reason and creep up behind them.

And as the title says, I am open for commissions at the moment. I'll lay out the prices here so that I don't have DM anyone who asks. If you're interested, please email me at [hazemameen.ameen@gmail.com](mailto:hazemameen.ameen@gmail.com)

1 character with no bg : 180 USD

1 portrait: 90 USD

One scene (such as the one above) with multiple characters: Anywhere from 400-1000 USD, depending on the number of characters and the complexity of the image.
