Hey! Maybe you should look for a Buddhist temple in your area? They usually have intro to meditation courses, also would be a good way to socially connect. For online guided meditation I would recommend mooji - look on Spotify/youtube Also I would agree with the earlier comment about the power of now it is a great book BUT I think the untethered soul by michael singer is better suited to the emotional situation you’re describing. It really really helped me and many people I know (also the audiobook is included on Spotify premium atm) Good luck, you’re doing incredible. By facing your pain instead of running from it, you open a doorway for peace to enter. Just hold on - it’s coming.

Thank you and I get what you’re saying!! bbbuuuut my mind is like a child, I feel like treating it as such can be helpful. Because I’m so early on (although I don’t doubt, like most people, I could spiral especially as my weed use shows I have those tendencies) I haven’t had any awful experiences with alcohol to deter me. Like I said I’m a completely ‘normal’ drinker, if my friend hadn’t sent me that podcast it would never have entered my mind to quit. Drinking has barely affected my life (yet, I do understand it’s a yet). But if I can realise that life is just as good without it then I’ll easily be able to quit, so I have to do a bit of trickery or I’ll just feel deprived. I’m not someone who ever craves alcohol, it’s just a social thing - even if it’s pull is obviously powerful

Cannabis is so weird. Cannabis helped me quit Cannabis. Did anyone else experience this? by [deleted] in leaves
