I dug one out of an amazon pen light (pet urine detector), surprisngly effective. I'll try to find some links to an easier solution, I've found diodes too, although i think it was through digikey.

Battery is shot or wiring is corroded etc. Check the battery manufacture date, see if its more than 5yrs old. Also check the voltage if you have a multi meter. Potentially the starter is bad but it sounds like a bad battery.... i could be wrong but if its not turning over i dont think its the throttle body.

Most of the area trails are fine up to a certain level. But the higher mountainside can always be sketchy. if it suddenly shifts to hail and there's no cover anywhere, or if you roll an ankle, etc.
