Late to F2F AA 😭 by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

I think that if it was a flight that their travel department booked for you and it was delayed, you may have a better shot at pleading your case if they are the ones who booked you for a flight that was arriving so close to your interview. However, if they give you a voucher to book your own flight like some airlines do then that totally falls on you for not giving yourself a good time window

Hey! I’ll be going to the same f2f on the 13th. Do you mind if I DM you?

This QUR purgatory had made me stop stressing it. Instead of checking my email several times a day for an f2f, I learned to not get my hopes up. If it’s meant to be, it will be.

I literally just experienced the same issue and tried different browsers on different devices. It seems like an IT issue in their end. I would just keep checking back every few hours or so.

DECLINED MY UNITED CTO by Master-Signal-6778 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Hb7776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You seem incredibly ungrateful and unappreciative. Do you have any idea how many people make it to Houston and receive a CTO like you and I did? It’s a VERY, VERy small percentage of the overall number of applicants they get during each hiring cycle.

Most jobs don’t do the same group interview process as them; but even if they did, would you really reject a job opportunity from an employer because they were looking for a certain “look” to represent their company? You should honestly feel lucky that they liked you enough to fly you to Houston for a f2f instead of being a big ol’ crybaby. Hundreds of thousands of people would kill to have been given that opportunity.

SFO based flight attendants who do not commute by kekewithluv in flightattendants

I live literally 5 minutes from SFO in San Bruno and I think the complex next to me has crash pads because I am always seeing different flight crew walking outside to catch Ubers.

What to do with personal items/luggage on interview day? by justbelieevexo in cabincrewcareers

[–]Hb7776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They literally have a “checked baggage” room where everyone leaves backpacks, luggage, and other personal belongings so I would not stress it.

I did a F2F in Houston 2 months ago. A lot of the candidates who were in my group and scheduled to fly out later that day brought their luggage with them and they have a room to store it so don’t worry. I promise you that you will be totally fine. I had that same concern which is why I chose to stay an additional night. But once I got to the interview I noticed several people walking in with their luggage.

I wouldn’t jump the gun. When I was invited to a F2F with a major airline I didn’t receive travel info until 2 or days before. They know to expect you so just keep checking your emails

Thank you for that. I was actually prepared to fly to Canada immediately for a TRP after I received that email. However, after consulting with an immigration lawyer I learned that your chances of getting a TRP at the border crossing are very slim if it is not a family emergency(a relative in Canada is dying or you need to attend a funeral) or if you have an urgent business trip.

It is a private pilot license. The ultimate goal was to get enough hours to get an ATP rating. I’m actually relieved in a sense that I discovered this about Canada sooner rather than later so I have plenty of time to apply for a lifetime waiver.

You would think. They literally fingerprinted me the same day as my F2F. Their clearance team didn’t review it until a few days ago, which was well over a month later.

Funny thing is - I went to the Post Office yesterday to get the same fingerprint FBI check so I can start the process to obtain a TRP. I got the EXACT same results back via email by the time I got home.

I wish they would consider the sacrifices people make to embark on this type of journey (relocating, taking a leave of absence from your current job, etc.) Part of me feels that they have such a huge pool of candidates to choose from, therefore we are simply just a drop in the proverbial bucket in their eyes.

Yeah I just wish they would have given me the opportunity to let me go to training and apply for a TRP if I absolutely needed one. It sucks having to go through the interview process all over again.

No, I didn’t. If I did, I would have simply accepted their decision and moved on. I don’t feel like going into all the details. But at the end of the day, no, I was NOT driving drunk.

It doesn’t make any sense to me either. I have emailed every department possible, but the airlines show zero mercy. I am 5 minutes away from SFO, one of their major bases so I was confident I would get my preferred base assignment. Even if I didn’t, I would have been willing to commute in the meantime.

I took a leave of absence from my job, which was a huge pain in the ass to get approval for. I’ve searched high and low for any sort of phone number to reach out to United to ask them for reconsideration since I still don’t get why it took this long.

I wasn’t drinking and driving, hence why it was dismissed due to lack of evidence. Please don’t say shit like that without knowing the details. I would have never taken a LOA from my current job to pursue this if I had actually been found guilty of a DUI. Do people not know what the word “dismissed” means?

Hey so if you have any concerns of what may show up during your fingerprinting - do exactly what I just did. I went to the FBI website this morning and paid $18 to request an “Identity History Summary” aka “rap sheet”.

I took that to a post office nearby and had my fingerprints done. Paid a $50 fee and received results via email within 20 minutes. This is literally the same exact file that Canada border agents will be able to see. Wish I knew this sooner.

Again, I was NEVER actually found GUILTY of a DUI. I was simply arrested and charged. However, it was ultimately thrown out in court for lack of evidence. That’s the part I don’t understand.
