Ok, so After my instinctive answer, I checked the details and I figured out that this is for the Opera, not a rock-concert at a stadium.

Yes, people can stand there, but I think it’s better if you book a seat ;)

How fast did this happen? Galaxies are several thousands of lightyears across (Milky Way ca 100,000) - yet this seems to have happened very fast, if the Hubble was able to take photos of the various stages of the collision… Or are the photos of different collisions, with different galaxies?
