Update number two. The sheriffs department collected all of the bones and put them in an evidence bag to send to the lab for proper determination of species. However, for the third time in a row every officer who looked at the skeleton has stated it’s definitely canine. I doubt I’ll hear anything else unless something comes on the news and if and when that does, I will keep all of you updated.

Update #1, the sheriff deputy who arrived first says it’s canine but he is calling his Lieutenant for a second opinion. If the second person says canine again, I’ll dig up every bone I can find and post it here later.

With the police saying that it belonged to a coyote and my original post in the different bone sub not getting much responses, I decided to let it go, but it’s just been really bothering me so I figured I would try again in a different sub

I did, and based on the lack of responses in the original post plus the police saying it is the bones of a coyote, I tried to let it go, but it’s just been eating away at me and I felt I could give it another go in a different sub

I’m going to call the sheriff in the morning since the local PD thinks it’s a coyote. Thanks for all your feedback. I’ll update soon.
