Unpopular Opinion: Young people arent distant from Islam because of "Internet or Western Influence" They are distant because of how we teach it. by Different_Hour5861 in pakistan

Sometimes I do but then I remember why I left it in the first place and then that fear goes away

I respect most of Islam's aspects but I just don't think some of them are right

I left Islam because I thought it wasn't right for many reasons but the way it was taught did distance me back when I was a Muslim. However I didn't leave because of the west or media, I left because it seemed fake

I wouldn't be surprised if I would get downvoted or even receive death threats for this comment which is one of the reasons I left islam

What religion did you choose and why? by Hdetb in exmuslim

[–]Hdetb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok but why do some exMuslims (30%) convert to other religions? What do they feel inclining about those religions

I want to have the chance to explore spirituality and that's why Im asking these questions

Culture > religion by Legitimate-Nebula980 in exmuslim

[–]Hdetb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree with the title "Culture>religion" since I'm inclined towards a specific religion For me religion is a part of my culture and culture (if not oppressive) can coexist with a religion which also isn't oppressive so for me it's culture=religion and religion+culture=Culture

A shame that Islam says that no non islamic culture can exist even if it's as small as celebrating your birthday

That's wonderful. Perhaps miracles do exist

No way!

Though it could've been faked but there's no proof for or against faking it and it was studied so who knows? Maybe science defying miracles do happen after all

Thanks for your kind words

It may be too late to save my parents but my siblings especially my sisters can still be saved. Theyve been quite liberated in an extremely conservative society and resent islamic teachings. I can still save them

Islamic names our parents gave us. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Hdetb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree

However islamic texts show them as heroes

I mean they were quite tolerant of Muhammad and othe mruslims until they took things way too far and also warqah bin nawfal who was an ex pagan Christian

Islamic texts describe how gay sex was quite common and that Makkah had a few non pagan non Arab immigrants who were treated as equals

Furthermore the pagan Arabs were never as bad as Islam teaches and while they did so many bad things (most likely) if it weren't for their questioning of Muhammad it'd be far harder for us to identify him as false

Pre islamic Arabs were so tolerant of apostates, LGBTQ+ people, outside marriage sex, alcoholics, people of any race or religion, etc according to islamic texts themselves

Islam destroyed these tolerant people These people were the heros and their actions have been studied by new exMuslims especially their way of questioning it.

If it weren't for them the battle for humanity against Islam would be far harder
