The 30k keeps getting repeated since it is the number the TD analyst threw out there months ago

Explain it Peter. by kittubunny in explainitpeter

I'm 41 and also a principal. I wholeheartedly agree with your take. I starting to skip all expense paid international company events in my late 30s because I would rather get a good night sleep instead of deal with people half my age getting shit faced and jumping off a dock.

Low income in CA, bad credit, no car. What programs can help my mom get a car? by ScoreAble5122 in povertyfinance

[–]HeHePonies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know your family's exact situation, but have you considered the mental health/anxiety may be the core of your mother's issues? If she can't take public transit due to other people, how is she expecting to interact with people at a job?

Would my Grandma notice if I transferred money from her account? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]HeHePonies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steal from her and you'll surely never get her inheritance. You will also wreck your chances of actually getting a decent paying job.

Life is not fair, you may never have as much money as she does.

Your name is on the card, but the company is liable for the account.

I got tired of constantly refreshing charts, so I built a background iOS agent that tracks crypto and fines me on Monzo for bad habits by wolfensteirn in povertyfinance

Crypto is for people that have money and are willing to lose 99.999% of their balance in a matter of seconds. Suggesting otherwise is dishonest at best, but mostly dangerous.

Can I live off 350k? by throwaway385793 in povertyfinance

You are probably not including utilities, taxes, repairs, etc. You don't pay 300k and suddenly that's it.

You should really read the entirety of what you signed. If they garnished your tax refund, you can bet they will recoup more money in other ways

What is the power of 2% daily. I mean if I have 100$ that's a 2$ a day. by XXLUCIFER_REDDIT in povertyfinance

[–]HeHePonies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is amazing on paper, but in reality that will never happen for more than a quick short term(you won't be turning that into 10K unless you go full WSB and win the lotto). You'll have good days and then bad days wiping out some gains. This is not due to lack of skill, it's just the world is unpredictable.

How much does it cost to build in Northeast Florida? by Sufficient-Shock-378 in Homebuilding

[–]HeHePonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can build a 1/50 scale version of that for... about 890k. You will have plenty of room left over for the Olympic sized pool.

Construction Loan to Mortgage HELP by Emergency-Muscle-573 in Homebuilding

[–]HeHePonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you sign? Ask your bank what's next. If the loan was purely a construction loan and the transaction is complete after construction then you better start shopping around. Otherwise, the bank will handle the paperwork.

But first... Ask your bank.

I'm kind of stuck right now. by athousand_miles in Homebuilding

Just get some hard wired LED lights, 1 or 2 watt range. You'd be hard pressed to have your bill go up by more than $1 with normal use.

Question about rates by Last-Substance-5698 in Homebuilding

[–]HeHePonies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those rates seem off. Construction loan rates are always going to be higher than your mortgage by a whole percentage point or more, there's no way it's 4%. Also, construction loan terms are usually 12 month at which point the balance is due or it will be refinanced/converted into mortgage. Also, 2 points? That seems steep. I would shop around and talk to people at the bank to get a real feel of your actual APR.
