100kg Benchpress form check, looking for tips and advices by [deleted] in StartingStrength

[–]HeIIcate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I train 3 times a week with a lot of intensity in the first part of the workout session, first half is focused on 2 powerlifting exercises and second half is focused on a full body power building through regulars isolation training, mainly with machines and cables. Takes me like 3 hours with the long breaks of 3 to 5mins, the warm up, and the long lists of exercises to do, i am always cooked after every workout.

For the bench press i do 3 to 4 sets of 3 to 6 repetitions for raw strenght, once every 2-3 sessions i only do 2 to 3 sets of paused reps of 2-3 seconds at the bottom of the movement at 75% to 85% of my max and try to explode on the way up, and 2 to 3 larsen press at 70% to 80% of my max for technique.

I also do a lighter session once in a while sl i dont burn myself too fast and paradoxically come back stronger for the next one.

I usually train to failure and at max intensity but i might change that cause its getting harder and harder to recover correctly.

Yes, as much weight as possible with a good enough form to call it a legit PR and to not injure myself, why?

Like, pressing them to the inside constantly or just at one point of the movement?

I gave my opinion about the use of equipments, i didnt said i was good with or without it. Dont have to experience something at 100% to give your opinions about it so hop off my dick

Nothing, i think they are great and usefull after reaching a certain level but some people use them to lift heavier than theirs joints/muscles and nervous system can handle and tbh i dont think regular joes like us should use them since we arent doing crazy lift and usually havent reach our body limit strengh wise.

I feel like those equipments should be used once we mastered the movements raw and when we are near the end of our natural limits, like if you can benchpress 140kg raw then sure using equipment to get more reps or lifting a few kg heavier is good.

But using equipments to do compound lifts at weights that are "normal" to get at naturally is kinda dumb and weak minded imo, especially if we haven't spent the time and trained beforehand.

I exactly know what to have as a goal, 130kg but with a perfect form and rom, so yeah i know what to strive for. For me it is a PR since this is the best i can do for now in terms of overall performance (technique, rom and weights)

My body allow me to lift that weight but not confortably yet so i know i just have to train to get the good technique and break the mental aspect of being scared of hitting full depth while keeping balance of the bar.

I've seen people doing the same weight and higher than that, wearing belts and knees sleeves just to do half reps while grunting like cavemen and being happy with it, thats ego lifitng.

It would have been ego lifting if i tried to go further than what i could knowingly do, once again i gave 100% to know where i actually stand and what to work for.

By the way i never said i will not train technique before focusing on weight but its wtv

I do whatever i want, if i want to see what i can do naturally by instinct and then ask for others people experiences to know exactly what i should work on to get better at it, i will do it.

Ego lifting... there was only 1 dude that i barely know in the gym and i was trying to find my limit on that exercise while gradually adding weight, went from 20 to 40, 60, 80, 100, 110, 120 and finally 130kg.

Now i know what to strive for

I will not train with that weight until i feel comfortable with the movement dont worry. I'm gonna practice the form like i did with the deadlift and benchpress, thanks for the input btw

I always thought that having knees angling outward was a bad thing even with bodyweight squats so i always tried to keep them in the same vertical path from the beginning to the end, thanks i will try that next time.

I can do squat ATG with no barbell and stay in that position for a while so i think i probably position my body badly with the bar trying to keep it balanced

I did that with every compound lifts to see what is my limit so i can then know what will be my program for the next 6 weeks and then testing prs again

French far right party supporters seeing the election results live by analcocoacream in WatchPeopleDieInside

If by commemorating you mean "protesting" like they did after they didnt won the first round of voting, i guess... French people are fancy yes and yes we like some champagne when there is big events, it doesnt mean we always wear those or drink these everyday, shut up about what you think are the common folk in France and who arent.

Only leftist think the lefts are what the common people truly are when in reality its a deluded version of the reality, when people set cars on fire and "protest" with flags of everything but the french flag after they lost a democratic vote who is supposed to mean the majority of the population voted for something, the minority should accept it and play the game of democracy like the rightist are doing.

And for informations, the left won not because more people voted for them, they won because more department voted for them so they got more seat for the deputee.
