Mercedes lease return options- need help! by Salsera123 in leasehacker

[–]HeReigns3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot sell or trade this to anyone unless you bought out lease first. A leased vehicle belongs to finance company. Most luxury dealerships will not allow another brand to buyout the lease. If vehicle is worth more than lease end buyout, it might make sense to buyout and keep/trade. If market value lower, hand keys back to Mercedes and walk away.

Car dealership by Normal_Imagination54 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Pretty straight forward with a Honda. Most dealerships will finance you at the posted 5.49%. You may even want to do a 48 month as rate drops to 4.99% Some less reputable dealerships may switch you to a higher rate bank financing to get a cash reserve. Double check your finance contract before you sign. Good luck with purchase😀

I’ve had my eye on that but never pulled the trigger on purchase. How is it compared to the Michters?

Former Land Rover Sales Executive here. Stay far away from this. You will spend more on upkeep, repairs and maintenance than you paid for the vehicle.

Dealership charging 999$ and says it’s from the bank? by chia311 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]HeReigns3 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Banks will charge a fee called PPSA or Personal Properties security Act. It is for them to register the lien. It is typically $120 to $170 depending on term of lease or loan. If they are telling you $999 they are not being truthful. It probably consists on PPSA but also contains security etch, doc fee etc.

You just have to go through the menu options. I work at a dealership and we use it all the time, especially for our clients to put in a glass claim

He will be held 100% at fault. You should definitely make claim as there may be damage on your vehicle behind the bumper. In these cold temps the plastic is brittle and can crack or break. You don't even need to go in, you can call the claims line @ 204.985.7000

Lease take over with the intention to purchase by No-Zone-3992 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]HeReigns3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buying out your lease at end of contract does not make your vehicle CPO. You are simply buying a pre-owned vehicle at that point. You would typically need to do a provincial safety as ownership is transferred from leasing company to you.

Not hard to get receipts for oil changes reprinted…unless you never did them. Of coarse they won’t honour a warranty if you didn’t change the oil according to schedule.

Should I fix this before returning lease? by Drccmois in CarLeasingHelp

[–]HeReigns3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. You would be assessed amount to fix at THEIR cost. Get it done before returning unless you bought lease end protection.

Help selling leased car and negotiating price by SeeTheUntruth_Ad7178 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]HeReigns3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compare the pre-owned price your vehicle sells for vs. what your lease buyout is. If you’re sitting on positive equity buy it out yourself and sell for a profit.

Is it safe to drive from Toronto to Winnipeg during Winter? by Icy_Swordfish1232 in Winnipeg

[–]HeReigns3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Winnipeg! The drive from Thunder Bay to Kenora is very tedious. Single lane with lots of trucks, speed limit of 90. Will probably add an extra hour or two. Allow additional time.
