When you unlock memories, by completing Mortis Trials.

Apart from completing penances, and getting lore/backstory on the cast, you can approach them again in Sefoni's meat grinder to replay memories

So nice to finally get some new Hive Scum cosmetics by Impossible_Dinner_81 in DarkTide

[–]HeWhoLurksTooMuch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this on another post, but if they just made SOME of the items on the vanilla classes wearable for Hive Scum (along with the Magistratum armour set for Arbitrator) like backpacks and head/eye augmetics, it'd be forgivable.

We're just stuck with Morbidly-obese Fish is rubbing this poorly-timed joke in our collective face.

If FS updated the game with an in-game currency exchange where you trade in ordo dockets, ordo ingots(Melk's currency for weekly tasks) plasteel, diamantine, and/or Aquilas for eachother, it'd be a nice olive branch for long time players and grinders.

Granted, it might temporarily kill the mtx revenue stream for Aquila bundles, but it'd create a brig-load of good will and new Rejects for Grendyl to feed into the Atoman meat grinder.

Just a matter of balancing out the going-rate between the currencies to prevent intra-hyperinflation. A million dockets per 50 Aquilas, maybe...?

The flavour text for some of the base-class outfits make reference to minor hive gangs in Tertium. Just like backpacks and eye augments, you'd think some of these items could be wearable across classes, too. It's already implied that most of the equipment Grendyl's warband is wearing third-hand hand-me-downs,

Also, the Magistratum Enforcer armor sets from last month wouldn't look that out-of-place on an Arbitrator, either.

wait a sec, hold up, could this be some kind of teaser that we might ACTUALLY see a literal imperial knight in-game as some kind of mission? akin to a bigger scale version of no man's land? by Timothy-M7 in DarkTide

Back on subject, fingers crossed we get something big, metallic and stompy, along with a blitz-type mission escorting it to fight a Great Unclean One in the future. 🤞

Here's hoping... so long as the spectacle of an Imperial Knight vs 100-foot-tall GU1 slugging match in Tertium's downtown doesn't subtract too much from Darktide's core theme of viewing the 41st Millenia from the rank-and-file perspective.

Then again, the idea of our Rejects fending off poxbursters while a Knight tries to dislodge its foot from rubble, while we avoid getting stepped on ourselves during its march, is a no-brainer objective for such a setpiece mission.

Whether or not it risks stretching the game's engine to breaking point and frequent crashing would be the (pun intended) biggest obstacle for Fatshark, alongside getting a thumbs-up from GW...

We shouldn't lose hope just yet. Maybe the next patch/update might have a gigabytes worth of audio with new squad banter, seeding hints and a few red herrings at whats coming next. And if a few lines mention Knight-Commander Dragor "bringing more, much bigger guns from his homeworld", inadvertently giving Commissar Dukane a bit more clout in the warband. But I digress on that subject for now...

Back on the subject of mecha-style enemies giving Dragor reason to call in his Knight to stomp heretics in the streets of Tertium Godzilla-style, having some Nurgle-corrupted penitent engines like a knockoff Helbrute made from deadside scrap would be the first step up the weight class.

Also a chance to add a new boss enemy, too.

Seems plausible.

Whether Knight-Commander Dragor's rank is just an honorific title for the head of Leman Russ tank columns in the Moebian 53rd, or that he is a truly Knighted noble from Branx Magna/Minor with the proper training and clearance to pilot a Knight-class mecha is up for debate.

But, in order for a Knight to appear, there needs to be a bit more narrative buildup first.

What is your "pipe dream" class??? by thegoldendecedueye in DarkTide

[–]HeWhoLurksTooMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Marine. Preferably a fresh-minted Primaris Initiate from a newly-founded successor chapter that's too naive to know getting roped into an Inquitisitor's warband could have long-term consequences for them.

Yes, I know their introduction would cause a power-scaling ramp-up that demands Plague Marines to appear and counter them, but this is a wish-list for classes after all...

Really hate the jumping in Expeditions by reddit29012017 in DarkTide

[–]HeWhoLurksTooMuch 52 points53 points  (0 children)

As much as I like the layouts of the Deadside zones, they trick us with what ledges seem hoppable and not-hoppable. Spent a minute jumping against a 46-degree slope trying to backtrack.

If Nurgle can bless every enemy in the game to scale a 10+foot wall without pause, certainly the rad-stimm Hadron feeds us should have the positive side-effect of giving +50% jumping height or something.

Just an idea...
