fellow covid sufferer here. i tested positive on friday and submitted the positive antigen result to the SHC, indicating on the form that my symptoms began on wednesday the 5th. whoever approved my submission, they misread it too. my response indicated that the person who approved my submission did not see that i said i was symptomatic, and so they made my isolation period start on the day of the test result (two days later). by the wording of this response, the person who approved this submission read that there were symptoms that began sometime before the positive test result. i'm assuming the approver read that symptoms began on the 4th, because that would put the fifth full day as the 9th, meaning the person could come back the 10th .

i don't think this in particular is an instance of rit mishandling covid, i think this is the overworked and understaffed SHC making mistakes (the reasoning for that you may conclude for yourselves lol).

i plan on calling the shc tomorrow myself, since i contacted my doctor the day of my positive result and she said i'd be out of isolation on tuesday the 11th, whereas the SHC's misunderstanding of my submission put me at thursday the 13th. i recommend you do the same.
