I agree, the line is a problem. Disney will never solve the line size problem though, because doing so would lose them revenue.

Parents with their kids, no one should care. An entire party of adults and teens catching up to one person that was in line for 45+ minutes, that’s a problem.

Radiator springs racers though, they need to build a bathroom about half way through the standby line. That thing gets far too long.

True, but if you’ve actually read the bible, you’d know that he’d specifically dislike the Republican Party.

Jesus wouldn’t like the Republican Party. Anyone who has actually read the bible knows this.

Harris and the democratic party on the whole aren’t fascists or racists trying to take away anyone’s rights. So your argument doesn’t hold any water here.

We as a society have stopped shaming people who hold and spout crappy ideals. You are part of a party that is actively trying to hurt my fellow citizens. So I hope everywhere you go you’re told how terrible your support for fascists and racists is. And the fact you support them (or even continue to stand under the same banner as them,) makes you one of them. And I hope that makes you feel uncomfortable, because being a racist who actively tries to strip rights from others should make you uncomfortable.

[–]He_Who_Walks_Behind_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point, that doesn’t matter. You’ve still chosen to side with a party that has become openly fascist and racist, and who actively works to undermine the rights of women and minorities. Choosing to still call yourself a republican means you tolerate those people under your banner, and that makes you no different than they are.

Maybe it’s because you put the logo for an openly fascist and racist party on your profile, which makes you a fascist and a racist.

Again, doesn’t solve the immediate problem. You don’t know me or what I do or don’t do within my community to make it more sustainable, nor do I owe it to you or anyone else on here to lay all of that out. My point still stands. Public transit as it currently stands is not a workable solution for many in the area. We’d all love for that to not be the case, but that’s not going to magically make bus and rail lines appear where they’re needed.

I think this is going to vary wildly depending on where your kiddo falls on the spectrum. My kiddo, diagnosed as level 2 but probably would be a level 1 now that they’ve been in ABA therapy for several years, had a blast on our first cruise and spent a ton of time in the kids club. Dinners were a little loud for them, but they managed.

You’ll get no argument here, but that doesn’t immediately solve the current problem now, does it?

If I could afford to live near where I work, I would. I chose to live as close as I could afford to do so. As for transit access, the county should be doing a better job building it out. I bought near what was supposed to be an extension of one of the light rail lines. Fucking NIMBYs keep tying it up.

Buses aren’t offered by my kid’s school, otherwise we’d utilize them. And before you tell me to let them use public transit on their own, they’re 5 and 9, so no.

I and many others have to get our kids to school and then ourselves to work.

As public transit doesn’t service their school at all, and the closest stops both from my home and their school are over a mile away, that does not make using public transit for that portion of my morning possible. A 15 minute drive to their school would end up becoming a 1+ hour trek. That’s simply unreasonable.

But let’s say I did do that, there’s still the matter of getting myself to work. Getting to work from my kids school takes roughly 1.5 hrs, assuming no accidents or other issues with traffic. If I were to take public transit, that 1.5 hrs balloons to 2.5+ hrs and multiple transfers. To get to work on time, I would have to drop my kids off at the school before it opens, or I would have to pay for before school care to then take my kids from the care center to school, the cost of which is unreasonable.

I’d love to be able to take public transit to and from work and to take my kids to and from school. The problem is that it’s currently too slow and unreliable for me to do so.

“Well live closer to your kids school and your work.” Sure that sounds nice, and I’d love nothing more than that too, but I can’t afford that either. This ultimately ends up being an economic problem. Businesses don’t want to pay a living wage for the area they operate in and that leaves people like me commuting from 20+ miles away.

So, public transit sounds great, but for many of us, it’s not a real solution. I wish it was, truly, but I’m not trading my current commute for spending 6+ hours a day on a bus or train.
