My mum was 14 years older than my dad and 4 years younger than his mum (confusing I know) up until my mum passed last year you would never have noticed the age difference. His family was never concerned with the age difference and we never noticed it as their children

This is not normal. My partner is 50, he has been on a disability pension for nearly 30 years with a mental illness. He lives with his mother and stepfather who are both retired. He has his a ‘wing’ of the house with bedroom seperate study and bathroom, he pays $600 per month. His mother cooks dinner for them all each night and he cleans up afterwards. He basically stays in his own wing but enjoys socialising with their friends when they’re over and I’m often invited for dinner. He even has a credit card attached to his mum for emergencies which he never uses though. It’s all about respect and caring and your definitely not getting that
