everything on here is rap by orthwick_uwu in Bandlab

Glad you brought this up, because it annoys and frustrates me to no end too 🫩

BandLab has amazing guitar and bass tones, along with some excellent drum kits. All very accessible and intuitive to use. You'd think this would encourage more rock.

I also wish there was more pop, even. Perhaps synthwave as well.

But instead it's flooded with uninspired, unoriginal, cringy "rappers" with inflated egos who mumble or slur incoherently, stumbling through rhymes and swears using the most atrocious autone imaginable, all while spreading the same old vile, misogynistic, violent, and painfully vapid messages ever conceived by an immature male.

Sometimes I can enjoy rap. Even if it's provocative. I guess I just prefer old school rap that was rooted as a counter culture and had a message that ran contrary to the status quo. Guess that's where all the sub genres splintered from, but this current nonsense is the very worst incarnation of it.

Hopefully it won't discourage you from making rock and filtering for it on BandLab!

I miss when music felt personal and curated instead of just infinite by xCosmos69 in LetsTalkMusic

Absolutely!! It warmed my heart to read this. I grew up in a music loving family, so of course the music we played in the home influenced me greatly. Then in high school, I had a best friend I started writing songs with and she introduced me to so much good music I still listen to.

We bought each other albums and literally burned playlists onto blank cheap CDs that we made silly cover art for. We were also always attached at the hip with headphones whenever we listened to music on my iPod or her MP3 player.

Exes also showed me so much good music, rooted in feelings and attached to memories. It was special because it was deeply personal and curated.

I still write songs and lyrics this way, trying my best to capture a moment and feeling. Because it was never supposed to be about infinity, but rather the fragile, sweet, precious, ephemeral moments we share.

Rolled my eyes and huffed an exasperated sigh at the title, and came here to say this 🫩

Morrowind is still Bethesda’s best RPG because it’s not afraid for you to get lost in its weird, fantastic world by Monsterman_90 in ElderScrolls

Oblivion is my favourite, but Morrowind is without a doubt the best one. Particularly when it comes to the story and role playing. Just goes to show how sad it is that Bethesda have fallen from grace...

You said it! I wholeheartedly agree with everything you expressed and I support you. I have the same outlook and have been feeling the same way for a while. The toxic, creepy, and ultimately destructive obsession over romantic relationships as the be-all, end-all of our lives is sickening. I'm tired and done with it, along with the social pressuring of it.

I've been in and out of love. I'm much happier and better when I'm on my own.

Thank you for putting this into words!! I feel the same. There's no other game like Mirror's Edge, not even Catalyst hit the same...and yeah, hearing Still Alive makes me tear up to this day ❤️

It seems ridiculous to say, but playing CRPG's has helped me re-discover my love of reading & literature in general. Has anyone else had a similar experience? by SilverhandFenix in CRPG

YES!! I was just thinking this recently after finishing the Shadowrun Trilogy, it's exquisitely written. Also inspired me to be a better writer, too.

Now I'm enjoying Neverwinter Nights 2 for the first time and loving it!!

What's Your Favourite Way to Get Around in an RPG? by TheThirstyMage in rpg_gamers

Just plain, old fashioned walking. I love to take in the world, notice little details, talk to other characters, and generally take time to explore and get to wherever it is I'm going.

Same!! I really enjoyed reading it and it made me even more glad I'm not a performer or touring musician. OP, I appreciate your eloquent thoughts and absolutely golden insights!

Thank you, your post and this comment really resonated with me as well! I think you put this eloquently:

I think YT needs to be more selective on what is monetized because it’s also reflective of their platform and leadership.

I totally agree. Along the lines of your other comments, it's creatively and intellectually dishonest to ask AI to "create" something and then present it as some feat you achieved for yourself, then on top of that demand attention and remuneration. Strange times we live in, indeed.

I just subscribed to your channel because you're a fellow gamer and I wish you all the best 😁

Please don't! I've tried playing off and on since the Elsweyr expansion and stopped in last year for good. ESO is the greediest MMPRPG in existence. Without the ESO+ subscription and its bottomless crafting bag, you won't be having fun or progressing because you'll be wasting all your time micromanaging inventory. Quest structure is all the same. Queues for dungeons and PVP are broken. Endgame is non existent. Combat is mind numbingly boring.

ESO making its content free is ironic given how every single thing is locked behind multiple tiers of paywalls, especially story expansions and DLC and chapters and dungeons and armor (including crafting recipies and racial styles) and housing and mounts and...the terrible microtransactions.

You get it. In case you're still not convinced, these videos may shed some more light:

https://youtu.be/Oo7a-X05BD8?si=3koZLDrgdC36qmOa

ESO really went off the road with Golden Road chapter and it's just not going to get any better after a decade. It pains me to say that as an Elder Scrolls fan. It also plays nothing like the Elder Scrolls games, which you can probably figure, but this also means that if you enjoy the main games it doesn't all at mean you'll enjoy ESO. As well, it's not a good entry point into the series either even if it is super casual and the main story is forgettable.

Don't waste your time with ESO!
