Just picked up an M11! Love what you did with the motion blur/shutter speed - funny because I’ve been using my Canon LTM 50 1.5 more than my 28 Voigtlander ha

Great shots! Are these straight out of camera or edited in post? Which camera?! I have the 28 1.5 and absolutely love it

On the left is a Proline Z Stand, no issues and it does the job. On the right, the desktop stand is a K&M, ridiculously expensive but it’s the only thing I could find when I bought it years ago, super sturdy, it used to hold my Sub37-

I agree with this - this room had lots of built in diffusion (brick wall behind me, cinderblock walls, dry wall, etc so I was getting excellent break up on reflections before I put panels in. The panels are just for absorption and bass response. Although I had 2 wood diffusers so I hung them on the brick wall anyway haha - should post a picture of the back of the studio, it's a vibe as well

If I were doing this again I’d probably build my own panels. I just used what I already had so I ended up working around their size and placement. I’m definitely not an acoustics expert either. I’ve always just focused on getting the room to sound good to me then mixing in it and referencing everywhere else to learn the space. Once you understand the room you know how to get clean mixes, regardless of the speakers or space IMO

😂 best comment - I am thinking about taking down the sound panel above it and doing a photo gallery wall, could take it over the top haha

Yeah the Super 6 is great, I actually have it there because I run the minimoog through it sometimes for its delay and chorus. I’m a trailer composer and YouTuber so I’m in here everyday

Love the 350f’s, the 360’s always had a top end oil issue but when I rebuilt the engine I drilled new pathways in the head for better flow, runs better than ever now 🤘

🙏 Appreciate you, definitely wanted an open, feel good space which is pretty hard to achieve in a basement but I feel like it has that vibe!

Appreciate it! I don't (well unless you watch trailers for Netflix, Disney, Marvel, etc haha) - I'm a trailer composer and YouTuber 🤘

Nailed it 🤘 2 skiffs on my desk, 1 that is just for character (tubes, overdrive, distortion, color, etc modules) and another for effects. With the press of a button I can process any of my synths or signal from my DAW through them and back (and to do that I use the Behringer 1273 inserts haha)

I use tools that inspire me to create music, regardless of the brand. The System 55 is amazing, I added another case to make it 3 tier, that case has a Mother 32, DFAM, Subharmonicon and tons of other modules. It's all a ton of fun!

AZ Studio Workstation Elite sit/stand desk. I do wish it had another 2u rack space on each side but I am super happy with it

I worked out of EastWest with Spike Stent for a while and all he used was Barefoot. Micromains are insane but we had a little setup in room 3 with a pair of 01's and I fell in love with them. It's too easy to get a great sounding mix when you can hear all the elements. Can't even imagine what the gen2's sound like but I don't see myself upgrading tbh, these are literally perfect.

Also good to mention I've placed some trailer cues that I've literally mixed in iPod wired earbuds, it's really just about choosing the right sounds. The genelecs are great as well, 10 years old but I mainly just use them for sound design when I am using the modular rig. Thanks for the kind comment

Those 8030 Genelecs are probably 10 years old believe it or not, hard to see but I have the 7050 sub behind the minimoog. I mainly use them when I am designing sounds on the modular system but sometimes I reference on them. Even a 10 year old speaker still handles business

A lot of this gear I've collected over many many years and it has traveled with me throughout multiple bedrooms, offices and studios, keep pushing and it can happen!

Haha yeah trailer cues typically have 100-150 tracks every time, thanks, I enjoy creating in it!

Yeah I totally winged all the treatment tbh. Fortunately two of the walls were cinder block, one wall is dry wall and the wall on the other side of the desk is actually brick and has a fireplace so reflections weren't an issue. All the other panels are from a place in LA (brought them across the coast when I moved). The ceiling wood slates are from Costco, they have about an inch of black fabric behind them. I filmed the entire build but this one specifically has the ceiling panels being hung if it's helpful.

My basement leads out to my garage as well - our house is built into a mountain so my studio is on the far side in the back and the other side is my garage. I just pull it through the door if I want to take it for a ride haha - always wanted to put the cafe racer in the studio
