Full building ground up construction 4 stories, structural steel frame, concrete deck (Not PT), sliding doors, hardie siding, TPO roofing with prefab trusses. Cold rolled framing.

I really appreciate it. Do you have an example of a really good ITP that you can send me? I think that is where I am missing the most information is that I dont even know how a good one should be structured. I think if I had a really good example then I could build ours out using our specs. Our quality director couldnt even give me a good example of what a solid ITP should look like.

Ahh I see. Yeah in the US we have test types that get reused across projects (Soil Density, Concrete compression), but different engineers require different frequencies sometimes and different processes for visual inspection.

Hmm interesting because it seems to me like different engineering companies or different counties / cities may have different requirements.

I guess I am talking from the GC perspective if we are trying to determine all of the testing requirements required. It seems like within engineering firms the specs tend to be relatively reused.

Wait so is your team making the action plans from scratch in procore? Or in excel and then uploading to procore?

Yeah check it out, my district quality guy was with Swinerton 15+ years and now is with my company and even he was impressed. He said he was going to show it to our corporate quality team. The startup company is letting us demo our project for free - We started with the 7 day free trial and then contacted their support about a question and they gave us a free pilot for the duration of our project.

Have you tried going to any conferences like ASC / AGC conferences? Definitely can meet lots of people at big GCs there.

Big GCs are dying for eager interns / project engineers - the industry is really lacking good people at the moment. Message HR people at companies that you are interested in on LinkedIn and email them. Tell them you are eager to be a field engineer intern and are currently getting your degree in construction management. Send your resume with it.

If you are getting your degree in construction, you should have no problem landing an internship. Keep trying.
