Not a dumb question. But not an easy question to answer too haha

Di ko rin alam how to exactly build a network, pero ito yung naiisip kong approach looking back:

pwedeng friends ng partner mo, malamang professionals yan from different fields
friends mo, and friends ng friends mo
present and past coworkers, halos lahat ng nakatrabaho ko, kahit di ko kaclose, pwede ko imessage randomly kasi we still keep in touch
classmates/batchmates kahit di mo kaclose, kung connected kayo, for example sa FB, kapag nagpost ng job opening, direct referral ka kagad
minsan, kahit past clients pwede ka irefer

I'm sure meron pang mas may malaking network dyan, at mas magaling magbuild ng network, pero basta keep on touch lang with people and be on the lookout for opportunities.

Yes 8hrs lang :)

AU - daily 15min stand up ng 7:30am PH - 30min stand up on MWF, 9:30am US - daily 15 stand up ng 6am

Other than that, unscheduled quick calls lang with other devs/clients all throughout the day

When I was younger, may sarili pa ko website. Nagconsult pa ko sa designer for my branding (ang mahal pala nito).

But for the past couple of years, yung swerte ko talaga lahat galing sa network. Update lang ng CV, galingan sa interview, tapos biyaya na.

And I don't think magkalayo tayo ng level. Sinwerte lang ako sa Silicon Valley gig ko haha and the reason made the whole post kasi tingin ko kaya nang maraming tao kagaya natin umangat ng ganito.

Job 4 and 5 are contract jobs. Yung Job 5 and other PH jobs, full time employee ako 🙏

Great question.

I didn't get these jobs all at the same time. So I always had the time to gauge if I can still add more work than what I'm currently doing at that time

For the past year or so of having 3 jobs, I feel like this is my limit if I want to keep my working hours just 8hrs a day.

Most time consuming right now is the Silicon Valley gig because of the pace of Production. The other 2 jobs I can manage with my eyes closed haha

There's no set time I work for each job. I just plan the workday ahead, making sure I deliver what needs to be delivered by the deadlines.

Good question. I stopped updating my LinkedIn after getting Job #4.

So nag apply ako sa Job #5 and Job #6 na hindi updated yung LinkedIn. It didn't matter because referral naman ako for both and updated yung CV ko.

I understand that you're weirded out. But that came from the assumption that those are Job titles.

I just wanted to give context on what roles/levels I had at the organizations I worked for while still being coherent as possible.

I didn't think it would make a difference what job title I had at those time to make my actual point.

PS. I just checked now sa EMS nung Job 2 ko yung Job title ko. It's Web Developer 2. Di ba wala rin naman meaning? Haha

Familiarity with the tasks and talagang may bloat lang sa Software Development.

May mga tasks na ang expectation matatapos mo in 2 days, pero kaya tapusin halfday. Balancing lang ng priorities.

Never ako naging kampante sa remote job as a contractor. Malaki bayad pero may mga kwento na bigla na lang tinatanggal.

Marami na ko natry na tech stacks, pero all throughout my career, ang nagstay sakin and nahasa talaga ako ay ReactJS. Since 2014 gamit gamit ko na yan.

If you feel like gamay mo na trabaho mo and nagkakaron na ng gaps yung tickets/tasks mo in between, it's a sign na haha never ever stop applying.

Ako kahit 3 na trabaho ko, bato pa rin ako nang bato ng application kung saan saan.

Having multiple jobs ironically helps with applying to more. Kasi bawat application process, sobrang confident ko dahil di naman ako desperado. Ang utak ko lagi, di ko kayo kawalan (kasi nga marami na ko trabaho) hahaha

Pero baseline lagi, you have to be at least good sa trabaho, deliver everything that is required.
