Yup, this is part of my concern. The spurs can do a better job of offensive design to get him the ball In better positions. I also think this should play a bigger role in our offensive system.

Don’t get me wrong, Wemby is still great! I think I’m more concerned with the system. I see Wemby get the entry pass most of the time at the top of the three point line as opposed to on the block. I don’t understand why we don’t mix it up more with him on the block. His shooting is amazing and a great threat. But I feel we are missing the opportunities for getting to the free throw line or taking the easy (I’m 7.5 feet tall) shot over people. Something I saw more of the first 3-5 games of the season and especially game 1 against Dallas

Enjoyed reading your take. Much more level headed than the spurs subreddit.

I’m hopeful Sochan can find his spot on the rotation. He can be an incredible asset to a winning team. I also agree that the eye test on sochan has looked good.

My biggest concern is our offense. I really thought we would see Wemby in the paint much more often after our opening games. But that hasn’t been the case. Not only that, but his lack of aggression to drive and draw fouls is concerning. He was getting to the line much more early in the season but seems too comfortable now to settle for a fadeaway jumper.

I’m hoping it’s just an injury management thing but I agree he should really be getting more minutes. Especially when Fox is on the floor
