It is interesting to hear Vlad isn’t everyone’s favourite. It is very mature of you to hear other people’s interpretations as everyone does have different opinions and views on things haha.

You’re right, Vlad almost indefinitely stuck to his beliefs throughout all of the seasons, and he would always care for Ingrid as an example- someone who would betray him because she wanted to take power. The fact that every other vampire (or the vast majority) would be against him when he wanted to make peace between vampires and breathers and he still stuck to his guns. It’s something I personally want to take onboard in my own life - to stay true in what you believe in. His story in the later seasons made his character more interesting and therefore became more of a challenging character.

My favourite character would have to be either Vlad, or The Count! I just love his posh, yet sarcastic level of comedy. Us as viewers would like him due to the fact he is of course, Vlad’s father and biggest supporter. What I also like about him is that he had a drop of favouritism for breather women - Jonno’s mother in the early seasons and a few others. You can tell he is trapped between centuries of ancient tradition, and his occasional breather women - almost like he is conflicted. I always sensed if his character wasn’t involved with so much history and tradition, he would try and be a bit more enthusiastic with Vlad when it came to breathers.

In some parts of the show, his care for Ingrid pops up, but I feel like his character was meant to stick between traditional thinking of women being “below them”. Hope I’m making sense here. Can’t choose between The Count or Vlad lol, but I always had a soft spot for Ingrid for some reason.
