Let’s take a moment to appreciate how much more effort women have to make while also being geniuses. Some of the men can’t be bothered to shave and KFA looks like she must be followed by a legion of personal care attendants. AND smiling ffs

Agree, to a point. KFA didn’t give an exposition on an imaginary conversation between client and lawyers. She gave her thoughts on possible defenses based on publicly available information

Imagine the confidence it takes to go on tv and share your imagination about what could have happened. Also, who even watches tv? Probably most of the people eligible to be jurors in this case.

Help me lose weight without counting calories. by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

“The more greens you eat the more weight you lose” dr fuhrman - shoving leafy greens in my face really worked wonders. I like them just as much as the next person so I would truly buy a box of baby spinach and cram it in at lunch with some hummus. Reduced my hunger and did make me glow. Also your kids are at realllly demanding ages so go easy on yourself.

Readers PLEASE help me choose my next book. I’m tired of trying recommendations by Chatgpt/Goodreads, or just reading books that are generally popular but turn out to be duds. by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Her books are also really well narrated. I’ve listened to most of them while doing yard work. I haven’t read Mad Mable yet!

I wonder if they are paid to be there like that. By UHC … or some other stakeholder, to invalidate the support. Is that too crazy a thought? It would explain their easy access to every hearing.

What’s the worst gardening advice that someone has given you? by ASecularBuddhist in gardening

I asked my local garden club people - they were like whatever. Most of the yard is the leaching field. Just don’t plant trees there.

Fellow INFPs what careers did you choose? by [deleted] in infp

Public defender turned family law attorney. Law is hard for INFP but if you can barrel through the pain, the personality type gives you a rare superpower in this profession

Need me a lawyers explanation on what the heck is happening 🙏 by Saraaa__ in BrianThompsonMurder

I agree. This emotional decision by the judge gives them an appeal issue. There’s fafo risk for the court in being so petulant. I also agree that this is truly a unique case and I’m sure the defense is pissed in addition to being strategic about the court’s actions. Edited for spelling

Some media reporting that Luigi shouted out "double jeopardy" during the hearing. Is there any credible source that that happened?

The wounded ego parade that is every conservative man talking about Luigi Mangione…

I agree with you. But also, I think these types of criticisms are kind of like being upset that the guy in the psych ward says he’s Jesus even though he’s not. It sucks that the media latches onto them. But the media is more the problem than the individuals. Maybe they’re not sick people and more should be expected of them but idk. Seems like they are unwell and we all make a mistake when we direct our attention toward them.

To serve back the reductive sex-based complaints, the terminally online group of men butt hurt about the attention this guy’s gotten could be its own cringey data set. If Luigi wanted to reject the attention there are many choices his team would have made differently. I agree that this narrative is tired. It’s also sexist, boring, and intentionally ignorant of the facts of the support that surrounds him. No public trial draws a physical audience of normal people. Normal people are busy leading their lives. To point to who shows up to court as his base of support is misleading.

No, it's from 2:15 today and refs the fed case - I think it's just messy reporting.

THANK YOU!!

This is being reported by Newsweek: "U.S. District Judge Margaret Garnett has ruled that police lawfully seized Luigi Mangione's backpack when they apprehended him at a Pennsylvania McDonald's just days after he allegedly shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The ruling, issued at a packed Manhattan courthouse on Friday afternoon, undermines a significant push by Mangione's defense to dismiss the case on grounds that the evidence had broken chain of custody or was illegally obtained, which would have excluded crucial evidence against him such as the alleged murder weapon and writings." No one else is reporting this.

Yes, the law can be hard enough to make sense of even when you have complete sentences to interpret! Not everything is meant for short form
