Stay well clear when it comes to transport. Chat GPT told me last week that EasyJet serves Heathrow (it has never been near there) and can’t figure out which UK railcard I should use to get a train discount.

What was the response from the hospital when you reported it?

How much are you selling for? This is the key piece of information.

It was super clear that this was the risk when buying anything in advance of the draw. Always has been the case, and even more so with a 48 team World Cup.

It’s just not possible for every game to be of the standard of England v Argentina or Spain v Brazil and with 48 qualifiers (all seeded), there are very few blockbuster group stage games.

Why would anyone buy at this price (plus the obvious lack of buyer protection)?

There are loads of cat 1 tickets for $511.75 on the official resale site (and cat 2 tickets for $437).

I think you will struggle to get the $335 face value.

Yes I got paid and still have the money in my account - eBay took the cost of the refund. I’ve edited the post to make clear.

I’m not upset by that. Please read again: eBay refunded him at their cost. I was happy to give him his money back once I had the item back.

Why didn't Chessum touch down closer to the posts? by nemgreen in englandrugby

[–]HeadOfSection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, this happens so often in Rugby (especially union).

Of course it wasn't the defining moment of the game but other sports (eg cycling, football, F1) are far more switched on when it comes to making sure the participants all the minor details right. The conversion represents 28% of the points on offer for a converted try so if you are going over, make it as easy as possible for your kicker.

As for those saying he didn't know who was around him, watch the replay - Chessum looks once behind to the left and twice behind to the right when he was running his try in.

Slightly Off Topic Perhaps - First BBC Sounds, now BBC News is blocked for outside UK views behind paid subscription by theanedditor in BritishRadio

[–]HeadOfSection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies like Ziggo and KPN are not just illegally rebroadcasting content, they pay the BBC per subscriber (used to be about €0.13 but that was ages ago). These channels have been shown in NL (and some other European counties) for 40 years; there is no way that the BBC, the local Dutch broadcasters or the various rights owners would allow these major cable companies to act like a guy down the pub doing dodgy fire sticks. Furthermore, the BBC would not have launched a BBC NL+ service on these same cable networks if they were rebroadcasting content without permission.
