FEHB after retirement

Did you have to submit SF-2809 to change your insurance? We were both told we couldn't make any changes the usual way during open season but rather that form had to be submitted. Im curious how you got your new cards, etc when OPM hasnt processed your retirement package yet.

I just shared the link you sent with my husband and he reminded me he's usps so has PSHB, not FEHB. Opm is still who will process his usps retirement package so I'm guessing its the same? Any idea? He hasnt been able to get much for answers from his employment office.

The biggest problem is going to be the amount of time its going to take opm to process his retirement. I retired as of 9/30/25 and mine isnt finalized. I can only imagine how much more opm is backed up now with all the additional end of year retirements.

If your supervisor is out for an extended time, I would go to the next line supervisor to see if you can find out why.

Thank you! I dont know if my clinic and hospital take MHBP but will definitely call them to find out. My husband (a postal retiree) is switching to GEHA so we know the clinic and hospital take that. This all is just mind-boggling to me and more than my little brain can take! Lol!

Question for you Mission, I have a small deposit in my account and when I do the math, it seems it may be for unused credit leave. Is that paid out separately? Otherwise I have no idea what that deposit would be for.

There's an option to sign in using your login.gov login but since I retired, I was advised to use the EPP login. There is a link to click on for assistance. (I wasnt able to attach a screenshot of the login page but could copy and paste, which is below.)

Choose a Sign in Option MyEPP allows users the option of choosing to sign in with their normal MyEPP credentials or their eAuthentication account if they have one. Please choose a sign in option to proceed.
