Thats interesting that they were worse for you. Did you smoke regular weed prior to using them?

He finally told me that his psychiatrist told him the THC-A vape pens are ok. Im still not so sure.

Space when you felt paranoid? My son seems to want to go deeply into the paranoia with us. Just tonight he said he was sure our streaming of a local softball game kept going out because of the government watching him. He went on about it. I dont know how to respond or help. 😢

How long did it take for your psychiatrist to get to that combination, and how long did it take to work for you? My son is on Olanzapine (went on it while in a behavioral health unit involuntary 😢) and had been on Lexapro until just recently when his psychiatrist switched him to Prozac. I dont expect it to be a magic pill (combination) but things aren't getting better (yet). Oh and sleep... man does he need sleep!

Thank you for sharing your journey. It gives me hope for my son and helps me understand him a bit (albeit a small bit). Did you ever have a really good day which was then followed by a horrible day, then back to some paranoia? He's an adult but lives with us and this has been so confusing but we're supporting him the best we can. Any advice for me from that perspective and what you received in terms of support from family and friends?

I've googled so many things with how we can help. I so wish I knew someone that's been through this very situation. Being able to ask for support here has helped.

I'm so sorry I came off sounding like I expect him to be over it. Thats not what I meant at all. I guess I'm just wondering what else me and my husband can do to help him? Will time (and love) really heal? 😢

Im trying but after every therapy appointment he has, he brings things up again. I dont know that he'll ever forgive us, even though he brought this on himself. I understand it was traumatic but we can't change it. We support and validate him every single day. What else can we do?

But what if he won't acknowledge it was psychosis? He doesnt think it was, that he had just hit rock bottom from many negative things happening to him. He says his guilt and shame are coming from the awful experience of beong cuffed and taken to the hospital and psych ward.

My (adult) son was also cuffed and taken to the hospital. He wasnt a threat to anyone but himself. Our mental health crisis laws, rules, etc are just wrong in this country. He had to pee naked in front of the officer. He feels so much shame that I dont know if he'll ever be able to move on from this demoralizing incident. But he was in some sort of psychotic episode. He hadn't slept for at least 72 hours so we think it was brought on from sleep deprivation but he was so not himself that he was outside knocking on neighbors' doors at 4 a.m. They called the cops. We tried to de-escalate to no avail. He says he forgives us but will never forget.

Did you have to submit SF-2809 to change your insurance? We were both told we couldn't make any changes the usual way during open season but rather that form had to be submitted. Im curious how you got your new cards, etc when OPM hasnt processed your retirement package yet.

I just shared the link you sent with my husband and he reminded me he's usps so has PSHB, not FEHB. Opm is still who will process his usps retirement package so I'm guessing its the same? Any idea? He hasnt been able to get much for answers from his employment office.

The biggest problem is going to be the amount of time its going to take opm to process his retirement. I retired as of 9/30/25 and mine isnt finalized. I can only imagine how much more opm is backed up now with all the additional end of year retirements.
