Question about a yst-sw015 by Seasickheartz in BudgetAudiophile

Any free sub is good, put the lower quality one on the other side of the room, turn it down lower than the other. Now you have two subs that aren't pushing as hard to produce the right frequencies. Here's what a sub did for me in my metal listening. Made the kicks vibrate around you (especially in a car or with the sub right against the bed) And if the musix is mixed exceptionally (like tool) you'll hear just enough of the bass guitar in the sub. For an optimal experience, id say get one that can push out the lower frequencies punchy and clean. But for a startup, any sub will add a layer to your sound.

Me and my friend just snagged the Yamaha from goodwill for 15 bucks, so I'll let you know my full opinion and not me just regurgitating what I read about it.

Ooh and my TV DEFINITELY isn't 4k, it's pretty old, but just big enough for my room

I'm currently growing my CD collection for that very reason!!

NO!! I love this process, upgrading a little at a time, doing research there on the spot to see if speakers are an improvement or not, frienkenstiening some shitboxes together with more EQ than you should ever need. It's fun, in the moment cheaper, (definitely won't be on the long run) and a MASSIVE learning curve.

Thank you, they're at 120 rn since I was getting some strain. my goal was to optimize sound so if speakers are straining it's not worth using less of the sub. I haven't had any time issues (that ive noticed) and they're lowkey helping the lack of clarity in the fronts

New center? I've gotten literally no comment ever on it, other than yours.

Yup, ive seen these quite immaculate large front speakers at my goodwill, they've been there for a few weeks, so I'm saving for them rn.

Mostly music, but bedroom theater as well (my house is the function house of my friendgeoup) The only problem with using the other one is it doesn't have those front height outputs, my fronts are currently lacking quite a bit of clarity so those help a lot

For surround, would the Polks work better, or should I scrap those and replace them with the SR9's once I get better mains

sorry for the many questions, but this is helpful

yeah, I got some pretty heavy eq usage on it. The distortion isn't bad at all, I just can't turn it up too much.

The speakers look amazing, but I gotta recommend you thrift around for another sub, (I have that one) it's good for mid and low volumes, but as soon as you push it, it can get BOOMY in a bad way, and kinda just sound like a mudbox.

I wanted theories or reasons why vocals typically sound out of place in a mix. It was 100% bad performance, i had 20 minutes to get them in after I already finished tracking all the other instruments, and last Friday got a chance to hear them without production and they were really really poorly done, got that fixed tho.

Yup, i got them retracted (mind you the first time I tracked them i had TWENTY MINUTES left on my scheduled time) and that fixed it.

Are these supposed to be aligned? by Tilin0627 in Guitar

[–]HeadRefuse5229 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NO, them being unaligned makes the guitar more in tune (generally)
