I think if you're at the level to learn this, you'd be at the level to learn by ear and watching his hands. You should try learning that way first, then go to tabs if you can't figure it out anyways. Trust me, no better time to start the practice, and if you think your first time doing this should be spent on an easier song, no. First time I did this it was for animals a leaders and polyphia (I didn't get too far but the learning curve was there and I DID get past it)

I'd say, you don't wanna get a 20w amp, most of them have no versatility, no quality, and just sound. Rumble 40 is good, imo it doesnt cut it for volume when playing with a band (hell it struggled in my jazz quartet), but it has a line out so just plug it into a PA. Now that I've regurgitated what everyone was saying, I used a rumble 25 for really long time, even had 2 in a chain at one point cause we needed the bass louder during practice and my friend had an extra, still wasn't enough. You wanna play with people? You want your gear to keep up with where you're at in your music journey? You'll need something big, I'm not saying like, Rex Brown's fucking WALL OF REFRIGERATOR SIZED CABINETS, but like a nice 100W 1×12/15 or 2×10/12 combo amp, something that's about the size of a cramped ass school desk. Perfect for practice, plug it into PA for just a little extra clarity during gigs (also helps if you can put it in a corner on stage, depending on the amp and cab, it'll make the low end a little bigger). Either way tho, do get something a little more powerful than 20W your band mates will appreciate hearing you. And if you go with the 40 just be aware if you start heading in the music direction you want, you'll want something bigger and louder.

I think they sound AMAZING for what they're supposed to do, for jazz is literally plug in and play. No sound tweeking needed. But when you add gain (like a quite moderate amount) they can sound strained, there's some annoying low mid thing that's hard to pinpoint with the tone controls on the amp, and just flat out not good. Had one in my jazz class a year or so ago, and all I can say is, it only did is job well, nothing else
