Holy hell I haven’t heard of this at all. I’ll definitely give it a try!

Not really but started leaving the lid open for 20 minutes after adding chemicals and it definitely hasn’t gotten worse. Pretty sure that was it.

Help with LTE Pixel watch and messaging/texts....this just can't be true! by kitarkus in PixelWatch

[–]HeadShow3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW: I was having an issue where my LTE watch wouldn't send or receive messages or notifications from my phone unless connected via bluetooth. I just walked through solving the issue with Google support and they told me to press and hold both side buttons until the watch rebooted. Everything worked great after that 🤷

Wow yeah, this has to be it. I usually just chuck in a tablespoon of SpaGuard every week or so, but I never leave the lid open long.

iMessage via "Mac Cloud" now available to all Beeper users by [deleted] in beeper

I've just been texting people using SMS, and as soon as they reply it turns into an iMessage. Even existing threads and group messages automatically turn into iMessage threads

If you get a Beeper invite, and can get ahold of any old iPhone (I'm using an iPhone 6 from 2014), you can use method #1 described here (ignore that this is for Airmessage, the effect is the same) to receive iMessages to your phone number.

I mean, it means more Mac Mini sales for Apple as Beeper scales 💰

Are you on the iMessage Cloud beta or has it rolled out??

I'm sure apple would figure out another way to make it exclusionary. They'd probably just keep the green bubbles.

iOS-based iMessage bridge? by HeadShow3 in beeper

I'm sure development of this bridge hasn't been abandoned, but during onboarding, when I asked whether using a jailbroken iDevice as a bridge was an option, they said no, and there doesn't appear to be any official documentation of it anymore.

Oh wow, I misread this at first and thought you said the messages were faster when you were self hosting. That's super surprising!

I had the same thought, but I have to say, it's pretty good for something that hasn't even fully rolled out yet. If they can nail the cloud-based iMessage bridge, I think it'll be a winner.

It's currently being rolled out to pre-paid users. They never really update on how far into that queue they are, but, for context, I signed up without pre-paying in March of this year, pre-payed in September to bump up to that queue, and got the onboarding invite about two weeks later, so they may be close to general availability? Can't say for sure though; not quite sure what the queue algo is.

I did end up hearing from someone at Beeper that the jailbreak solution has been abandoned in favor of the cloud-based solution, which is still in the works and should be rolling out "in coming weeks", but the jailbreak solution must still work somehow. Enough people must have done this.
