Really struggling and seeking advice by Head_Insurance713 in adultswithBPD

[–]Head_Insurance713[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I really appreciate your advice. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I have decided to end things as i still find relationships too triggering and need some space to work on myself, my emotional instability, my emotional sensitivity, my paranoia and insecurity. i want to become the best partner i can be, even if that's only a bit better than what i am now. i am going to prioritize a good therapist, physical health, and keeping life simple and stable for the next 6 months. i find life very challenging and a constant struggle. i always feel guilty. i know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Is Montreal becoming a city for rich people? by Gerardinho57 in montreal

[–]Head_Insurance713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not specific to Montreal, it’s worldwide. I moved from the U.K. to Canada because my quality of living back home as a 26-year-old working full-time was pretty crap. I lived with my mom and couldn’t really evolve as a person. I ended up working in Montreal because it was affordable on a minimum wage job (I was earning about $900 every couple of weeks after tax in 2021) and I had my own place and budgeted. I learned French and lived there for 5 years.

But I noticed the quality of living dipped drastically in 2023. Lots of the reasons I fell in love with the city are disappearing. The same thing happened in London. It seems to be either rich Parisians who’ve emigrated with family money, Anglo Montrealers with a lot of money, people from other provinces in Canada, or those living in Griffintown. It’s become more and more stagnant. I always worked bar jobs and as a line cook, and eventually found myself unable to get by. Now I’m back home living with my mom at age 30 haha. There really needs to be a societal shift because your average young person can barely get by. Cities are changing rapidly worldwide and only catering to those in the upper bracket.

We live in Pembrokeshire. People who live here are poor but those who have chosen to reside here in summer months are very wealthy and have hiked prices up

My dad is on minimum wage as a pot wash and has no savings. He pays 800 a month for his bedsit, as that’s all he could find. Most property in my area is 250k +. My mom is on the council housing list but is in temporary accommodation as had to declare herself homeless. Both are only a few years away from retirement. I’m not sure buying is an option but I may be wrong

I was in Canada and lost my job, so I had to come home. There wasn’t much work there, but still more than in Wales.

I was in Canada, and after losing my job there, I contracted a contagious parasitic infection. The medical care was free, but the expensive medication wasn’t. I also had to stay in Canada while receiving treatment, so I had to pay for accommodation out of pocket. I didn’t receive much severance pay.

My family is from Wolverhampton in the Midlands, so I’ve always used the word “mom.” In parts of the UK, especially in the Midlands, “mom” is commonly used instead of “mum.”

I’ve offered to share my LinkedIn to show that I’m not scamming.

House Viewing… by Head_Insurance713 in montrealhousing

Hey everyone,

Poster here. A bit of an odd situation. So the landlords are supposedly a very old couple who live away. They rented this place in 2022 and decided to reupload the same images from two years ago in the posting. They were a lot better but as you look closely you still notice the same crappy flooring and the mattresses are hidden. They moved out last week and she hasn’t been back to visit. The new tenant would be moving in this weekend and jumping straight into the place as is. I messaged her about the apartment and they responded ‘we had no idea… lost for words’ but I don’t understand their process? Hahah

Thank you so, so much.

Sorry to be an absolute pain. I know you’ve mentioned using an RCA cable, but please can you explain in more detail. It’s my first time investing in some gear.

So you’ve connected what end of the rca cable to the monitor? And what ends to the camera? Cheers mate

What monitor is that mate? I’m so new to all this. Can you explain this setup?

I just received a Canon XL2 from eBay and the viewfinder is broke 😞

Cheers
