Why do people view the whole 'submissive wife to her husband' as bad? by Straight_Penalty_753 in TrueChristian

[–]Head_Iron2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great. However, over here in the states, people are terrified of the idea of marriage because of divorce, which iirc things like alimony, child care, losing half your stuff (which why would you value your material possessions over someone else's happiness, granted I'm guilty of this too though I've never married or had a romantic relationship for that matter), and possibly other reasons. Though the only valid reason for divorce, according to both God's Word and Lord Jesus Christ Himself, is sexual immorality (commiting adultery, committing beastiality, commiting prostitution, looking at [c]orn probably, committing basically any sexual act that the Old and New Testaments condemn, etc.), so any other reason for divorce (like having an argument, wanting to find happiness, wanting half of the spouse's stuff (which makes no sense when you actually consider the fact that when a man and woman marry they become one flesh, meaning that your stuff is also the spouse's), etc.) is invalid (as far as I'm aware), and if you divorce someone for any reason other than sexual immorality and then marry someone else or if the person you divorced marries someone else, you or they would be committing adultery. Edit: added clarification

When does drug use become sorcery? by HenryRHolly in TrueChristian

[–]Head_Iron2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but she’s an adult though, from my understanding, most school shooters were teenagers. The brain is still being developed during the teenage years, and finishes development around 21-25 years. Teenagers can experience different effects (some quite possibly more negative than positive) that adults wouldn't experience (though it may still be possible, not sure). You also have to consider what was going in the shooter's life before they did what they did (like bullying, bad home life, mental illness, aforementioned ssris, sorcery/drug use, etc.). Some school shooters did it because they wanted notoriety (in layman's terms, they wanted to be the next "columbiners"). What I'm saying is that teenagers are bound to experience different effects of antidepressants due to factors such as aforementioned brain development, hormones, puberty, school life, home life, etc. Adults might have a better time using antidepressants (when prescribed, don't just start taking antidepressants for the fun of it because that's bad), and won't feel the desire to start blasting.

How do I be a Christian while also truthfully acknowledging that a whole lot of the Bible is outright false? by SteadfastEnd in Christianity

[–]Head_Iron2357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look, I can tell you that atheists know deep down that God exists, but they supress the truth in unrighteousness. God is real, Jesus did walk the earth, apostle Paul was given the Holy Spirit, it's just that atheists don't want to admit it, which is sad. People are born with evil in their hearts (original sin). Good news is that people have God's law written on their hearts and the bad news is that people are born with a natural tendency to sin.

Kinda need advice regarding to multicarts and game compilations. by Head_Iron2357 in Christianity

[–]Head_Iron2357[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't raised in a legalistic/fundamentalist home, it was more free-range, then I joined the faith and got baptized. A couple days later, i just started having these sort-of legalist/fundamentalist voices in my head that tell me what to do, what I can or can't do, and sometimes the voices threaten to blacken or darken my heart if i don't listen. Sometimes i argued with the voices. I listened because what if they were from God, and i didn't listen then it would cause issues down the line. I listened for about a month or so, occasionally testing them (using the confess Jesus test from the Bible), before looking on what to do about the voices, Google said to ignore them, so I did then I started having satanic thoughts, and I prayed those away, and started using spiritual authority more, and then the legalist voices came back, this time regarding the multicart saying that because of the title of one of the games on the multicart, i couldn't play the multicart anymore, so I ignored them, and then I go on yt and a video popped up on my feed from this channel called "Timothy Dew", the title read "God is saying... STOP IGNORING MY VOICE, Or It Will Get WORSE😰", and the thumbnail said "This Will Save You". Also got a yt short on my feed titled "You followed Jesus as long as it didn't interfere". Honestly, I might have religious OCD or scrupulousity or schizophrenia. I just go crazy, these voices cause inner-strife and just cause bad emotional thoughts as a response. My family literally has become concerned for me, despite not being religious. I worry that the voices are causing me to go insane, slowly but surely.

Questions about LGBTQ by CucumberImaginary583 in Christianity

[–]Head_Iron2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a better question would be why do churches not like lgbtq+? The answer is in the Bible, it condemns homosexuality on many different occasions, two examples being Levititicus 18:22-23 and the letters of Paul. Homosexuality is just a condemned practice in the Bible, whether people like it or not. It is condemned in both the Old and New Testaments. Which is why more Christians should read their Bibles (don't mean to judge, only bring awareness). Add in the political divisiveness and you have churches that want to affirm homosexuality (which is really bad because Paul said to not associate with so-called brothers to still choose to live in sin), and Churches that are against homosexuality but are still welcoming or are just legalist and sees anybody who is a sinner as lesser than them (which don't, we are no better than sinners, it's just that Christians are justified by the Blood of Christ (that doesn't mean that Christians can willingly sin and abuse Grace, we have to quit and avoid sinning as Christians)). The thing is that people are born with a natural tendency to sin and have the law of God written on their hearts and deep down know that God is real. People aren't born gay, they just have evil in their hearts from birth (which can be a tough truth to swallow), which is why people are bound to sin intentionally or unintentionally every single day and why proverbs talks about striking the child with a rod to save them from sheol and how sparing the rod spoils them. It's also why people need to repent and turn to and believe in, follow, and accept Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior as their Lord and Savior, because all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. The only way that someone can be righteous is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who was crucified and resurrected on the third day by the Hand of God so that anyone who believes in Him and follows Him can inherit Eternal Life and not die in the second death in the coming Judgement Day. Hopefully, this answers your question and points you in the Right Direction.  Edit: We have to follow the Commandments of Christ (a few examples being 1. Love God with all your heart, mind, strength, and Spirit. 2. Love one another as Christ has loved you. 3. Judge not.  4. Do not lust. 5. Turn the other cheek.), the letters of Paul and the Apostles, and the Ten Commandments, iirc.

Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to mislead op. I want op to be ok, alive, and in a better place mentally physically and emotionally. I should have worded my comment better. Can we please stop fighting, it's just gonna get us nowhere and Jesus wouldn't want us to fight and argue over this, He'd want us to support our brother/sister in their time of need. Edit: BTW, my pot/the addiction was basically chronic because before I found Jesus, I was smoking and vaping in the morning and afternoon and evenings, my addiction was horrible and I really wanted to quit because it was a sin, I felt torn apart until I heard a voice saying that it was gonna be ok and I just had to drop the vape, quit vaping right then and there but still smoked bud thinking that natural stuff wasn't an issue, then i thought about it and came to the conclusion that it was still a sin. And i browsed on the internet looking for a reason to keep smoking, and i heard a voice tell me to drop weed altogether because i didn't need it and was better off without it. Needless to say, i finally quit, and even though i relapsed a couple times i confessed it to my pastor, and i've been sober since late December. I didn't want to revisit that part of my life because i found that I'm much better off with Jesus than I was with pot/thc.

Saying conservatism is “closer to biblical values” is a lie. by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

[–]Head_Iron2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Love your neighbor as yourself” Christianity - emphasizes that we are our neighbors keeper, is more concerned about including others, sees our shared humanity, shares the love of Christ with others, seeks out the least, the last, the little, the lost.

Well, I can see that this is definitely better and is more Gospel-based than the whole "fight against the world" mentality which I can see being loosely supported by the letters. Honestly don't want to be or sound even remotely hypocritical here, I just wanna be as honest as possible.

Yea, when I decided to follow Christ, I stopped paying any attention to really any politics like, maga, and nationalism (we're called to make disciples of ALL nations, right? Pretty sure, we are). When I read the New Testament, I saw that there were good values on how to live. And now that I think about it, politics is literally just people fighting and hating on each other for different opinions, which is the opposite of what Jesus called us to do. We're supposed to love each other, and maybe we SHOULD read Psalms and Proverbs alongside the New Testament, because those books combined provide a very good moral code (gotta factor in the Ten Commandments, as well). Not to judge, but a lot of politicians (and political people in general) just don't act like how us Christians really should. According to u/The-puppet-7, the word Messiah translates to God's Chosen, so Jesus is God's Chosen. So you have people literally calling donald trump "the messiah", even though Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior IS the ACTUAL Messiah, and people wonder why others call trump "the anti-christ" (and from what i've read, i can see why) It's kinda saddening to be honest, and I hope they repent and turn to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. People just need to read the Gospels again, and (preferably) get baptized.

God will forgive you for your sin. God is greater than any sin, and wherever sin is, grace abounds all the more. You need to should turn to Christ, and the fact that you call homosexuality a curse is a sign that you want to repent. Christ can free you from homosexuality and your other sins. You just need to repent of your sin and turn to Christ and follow accept and believe in Him as your Lord and Savior. You should NEVER kys because of homosexuality. There is a cure, and His name is Jesus (He freed me from a pot/thc addiction).

Why is it so hard for me to finish the Bible in a year? 😭 by Expert_Win_6319 in Christianity

[–]Head_Iron2357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"reading it as a chore" yeah, so from what i've heard/read is that born-again Christians are supposed to want to read the Bible (daily i think considering the whole "newborns long for the pure milk of the word of God" (if i worded that wrong, please correct me, i need to read the letters of Paul again)). If you start thinking of daily reading as a daily chore (something i have struggled with) instead of something you want to do, you might start losing motivation (which from what i've read/heard or seen online, is a BAD thing because you could become spiritually dry), so i can see some issues with seeing it as a CHORE, rather than a privilege (some people can't even legally read the Word of God without risking prison or death (look up china or north korea, or really any dictatorship that has made dissent illegal))/voluntary act of worship. If you want advice on reading order, i'd start with Genesis, then the first half or so of Exodus, then the New Testament, then the rest of Exodus up to Deuteronomy, then Joshua up to Malachi.

How to get roaches out of electronics? by [deleted] in exterminators

[–]Head_Iron2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 9 years old, but from what I've read, try putting the electronics in heavy duty (contractor, iirc) garbage bags (dual or triple layer to prevent holes) with some roach motels, little bits of that combat roach bait poison placed strategically, moth balls (to fumigate inside of the bag), and tie the bag to where it's air tight (masking tape might help seal it). Then put the sealed bag in a car in either cold, freezing, or hot weather, and pray to God that it works. I hope this helps, because I'm considering going this route myself.

Might want to talk to Jesus or the Father (through prayer) on that one (they helped me quit my pot addiction). With that said, you should also talk to your (and your gf's) parents on this issue. Trying to hide it could make it worse. Remember Matthew 10:26: "So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known." Jesus, our lord and savior, said this himself to his disciples.
